But...olives stuffed with WHAT? Pimento is the obvious if disgusting answer, but the tone of the original suggests some, arguably delicious alternative--some secret stuffing that would redeem the whole wretched mess.

I hate recipes like this. Not ones with mysterious ingredients; I'm used to those from my Southern (on one side) / New England (the other side, the one that couldn't cook) handed down in childhood. No, I hate recipes like THIS: ones signed "Mrs. Rush H. Limbaugh, Sr."

Mrs. Rush H. Limbaugh, Sr. is a monster. A bona fide monster.

I'm surprised her jello recipe didn't include canned clams.

The job of Border Patrol is getting tougher, and they're bringing in more agents to serve as chaplains to help

-----

Please feel sorry for them.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, even of half as much worth as the conservative's belief that they are always being treated unfairly.

Wow. Lay people nominated by their churches attend a 2.5 week academy, and then they are, poof, Border Patrol chaplains.

Forgive me if I have little, er, faith that this will help anyone, especially migrants.

Unusual Machines also said Trump Jr, the oldest son of the president-elect, was among its investors. A filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission listed Trump Jr as the second-biggest shareholder.

In a press release that described Trump Jr as “a globally recognized business leader” and “best-selling author”, Evans said he would “bring a wealth of experience”.

I have been thinking about this today. Smithfield Packing Company:

Founded in 1936 as the Smithfield Packing Company by Joseph W. Luter and his son, the company is the largest pig and pork producer in the world. In addition to owning over 500 farms in the US, Smithfield contracts with another 2,000 independent farms around the country to raise Smithfield's pigs. (Wikipedia)

Smithfield has been owned by a Chinese company since 2013.

The company is one of the largest environmental polluters in the country - carbon emission, groundwater contamination, you name it. And, the damage is largely to poor communities (of course).

BTW, the company exports a lot of its goods so it is doing what the US has done for decades, in reverse - exploit cheap labor and the environment to send its goods abroad for sale.

Cheap labor? The company employs mostly immigrant labor (legally through visas and illegally) and has been cited for child labor violations on numerous occasions. Given the department of labor's failures to identify and prosecute companies that use child labor, the practice is probably widespread.

So, is Trump going to deport the labor that supports this company?

Another quote related to tolerance is from Charles J. Chaput, who said, “Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant, then it tries to silence good”.

The trouble is that quote can be used against us. The right insists we're the "evil" preaching tolerance trying to silence the "good," i.e. Trump-voting, Murica-loving, White, male, Christian, "Patriots."
