Mrs. Brit ๐ฆก๐๐ made a Victoria Sponge, which is really a very simple dessert once youโve got the cake right. She included a little note about the history of the cake, so the Yanks knew what they were getting. It then went up for sale alongside MUCH fancier cakes, clearly made and decorated by people for whom itโs a passion. To this day sheโs chuffed that her simple cake beat out all the fancy ones for most tickets sold.
