I think that once "honorable" is part of your political brand, it much be forcefully included in any comment about you, positive or negative, as a modifier.
Well said Stephen. Scott is not an honorable person. There are millions just like him supporting Trump.... for what? The only answer is fear! The Fear that Trump will find a candidate to replace Scott and fear of turning his donors against him. They are the true definition of a Cult.
Shakespeare, much though I love the guy, was a royalist pandering brownnoser. Julius Caesar is a paean to authoritarian kingship, written (1598) for his patron, Elizabeth I. So he makes JC the tragic hero and Brutus the plebian brute. The entire fucking play is an attack on the idea that common people have either rights or opinions worth listening to.
By contrast, Michelangelo made an idealized portrait of Brutus a few years earlier (1540), depicting him in the style of a Roman portrait - not a Roman imperial portrait, but one from the Roman Republic. And he made Brutus handsome, thoughtful, and determined - the portrait of a hero, the very image of an honorable man. Michelangelo lived and worked in Florence and was an ardent supporter of the innovative Florentine Republic - one of the great medieval experiments in democracy. He made the sculpture a few years after the Republic was overthrown by the Medici, who turned the place into a duchy, and - as is widely accepted - began its long slow decline from a center of art, science, and political creativity to a backwater.
Pictures of Michelangelo's Brutus here (it's one of my favorite M sculptures):
Anything short of a ringing condemnation of Donald Trump's attempt to destroy the republic for his own selfish interests is more than insufficient, it's absolutely unacceptable. Look, we ALL saw what this evil bastard did. We saw it on live, riveting, horrifying television. Are Americans (whether "pols" or "normals") determined to insult themselves and flush their liberties down the drain?
The media so wants to find some nice, normal republicans so they pretend that the GOP is still a normal political party. But there are only two kinds of republicans: the true MAGA faithful who believe every crazy shit that comes out of Trump’s upper sphincter and those that would sell their souls to be pretend to be the true MAGA faithful. The latter may “know better” but they still go alone with the bull shit because that’s how they hold onto power. Effectively, that means there’s no reason difference between the two.
Oh honey. They are never gonna pick you but keep dancing for them.
Can we change this pinned comment? Kind of tired of seeing this asshole first thing, every day or whenever I log on.
Agree. I just came here to say the same!
See Benny Goodman quartet PSAs from the 1950s. The message has been out there but people have not listened.
Tim Scott and Lindsey Graham have a lot in common: both have lost their moral compass to be able to lick the orange man's taint.

It amazes me this guy gets as much attention as he does, I’ve got as much chance of getting the Republican nomination as he does at this point.
They’re all just pretending it’s possible it’s going to be someone other than PAB.
If he is a Republican, he is absolutely NOT honorable in any way. That wasn't always the case, but it's been that way for at least 40 years, maybe 50.

I missed this yesterday, so I don't know if anyone else posted this, the best version of the "Brutus is an honorable man" speech ever.

Snowballs chance in hell of even getting a Veep nod from racist R's. Him and Nicky Jailey, whatta couple of sell outs
Here's how the world reacts to Tim Scott:
Liberals: "What a miserable, lying POS. Its so pathetic the he supports Trump."
Never-Trump Republicans: "I like Tim Scott but I'm unbelievably disappointed that he still supports Trump."
Trump Supporters: "Fetch me a drink, boy"
Those who are still defending Trump at this point are either ignorant or are doing it in full knowledge of what it means.
That makes Tim Scott either dumb or dishonorable or both.
Plausible deniability for these wankers died 51 years ago in the Watergate hotel
Tim, he didn't show up because he is a fucking coward.
He sent them there to kill you all, for him.
Jesus, man.
Didn't the committee hear testimony that the Secret Service stopped him?
