this is the man who could have been our vice president. I liked him the minute I saw him with Kamala Harris. I just hope he takes care to protect himself, too. This is a bizarre and painful time for public figures, and we need men (and women) like him who will stand up and defend our liberties.

Love this man. He would have made an amazing VP. He's careful, open, and fearless.

He should be our Vice President right now. He should be our Vice President forever.

Can't sleep for all the BS running around in my brain. I've tried to stay away but the interwebs keeps drawing me back in: Oh look, ICE dude murdered a women and fled the scene!

Tomorrow's a big day with a "ventral hernia" (belly button) surgery in the morning. Never knew there was such a thing until my bb got to be like a golf ball in size. Anyway, it's a laproscopic and outpatient procedure, and I have a good doc and fabulous girlfriend to take care of me. But I need some gawd-dam sleep.

I wish he hadn't quit. Why not ignore all the bullshit from the right-wing spew machine and go about his business? Bowing out gives a lot of fuel to maga, and especially that little Shirley prick dude... who is now with his fascist mommy doing a victory lap. Just my opinion. Walz has to take care of himself and his family, and I have no idea what his life is like. I just hate to see the magas get their gloating on.

I fell in love with Walz' son when I saw him yelling "That's my dad!" at the Democratic convention.

"So weird for a politician to be a basically decent guy who just really wants to do a good job for people..."

Amen, Robyn.

I was so upset about this yesterday. This "scandal" will blow over in a couple weeks and won't be an issue by November. They're forcing him out. Etc. After listening to his speech and talking the night, I'm actually sort of excited. Let me explain, he now doesn't have to worry about losing votes. He is free to call everyone he wants a weirdo or tell them to watch their own bobber. He can do whatever he thinks is right and consequences be damned.

Democrats need to be this way anyway and all the time. I want to see real people with real values unmitigated by decorum or polls or "consultants" who say "don't say weird". We need Dems who fire on all eight cylinders without mufflers. More like Gavin, obviously, and less like Chuck or Hakeem, also obviously. BTW. I still haven't seen the Dems vision for the future... a "project 2029" if you will. Not that I don't know who they are, but I'm one of the very, very few who seem to be paying attention.

Permanently Confused@68's avatar

Yup. Same thing happened with ACORN. How could the Dems use this technique against maga? Some guys with cameras going around ginning up outrage on some non-issue. Only there are actual issues that need ginning-up! Read the Rethug playbook. Do that.

Minnesota will have politically lost one of its best.

Can't discount Nick Shirley's role in this either. There are other places in the world where the party so affected would have a youth wing, and said youth wing would find Nick Shirley in the street and offer him a nice little osteological rearrangement.

You don't ask Trump to do anything, you demand he remove the slanderous BS he spews. The man is a rude crude golem of a human and needs to be locked away in some ugly ICE Facility of his own making until he rots. Republicans in Congress are complicit in all of this. They are just ugly impersonators of decent people, because they are not. Far from it. If MAGA wants to live in a dictatorship, they should move to Russia. If they want to make war on democracy that is the place for them. They won't though because they are all as creepy and ill mannered as their god emperor Shitpanzee. And rank cowards as well. Guns? Bah! The only use them on defenseless women and school children. Deport them, not immigrants.

I saw Senator Mark Kelly on Rachel last night. He could be our candidate for President, he's smart, articulate, tough and an American hero.

It’s part of the reason only amoral sociopath narcissists get drawn into politics.

Real people get hurt

Really bad day. I get why he quit, but goddamn now they’ll just lie harder and it works
