So you're telling me to jump off a bridge now rather than fight the crowds after they merge with Comcast.

I've never had cable, so fk you TWC. But if this results in fewer people seeing/hearing-- --conservatives --religionists --media blowhards --etc. on the tv, then so much the better.

They charge me a mere $50 a month for <i>internet-only</i> service (no teevee at all.) Very low cost, on a per-electron basis. And <strike>if</strike> when it goes down, my business is rarely paralyzed for more than a week. What's not to like?

Here in Austin, we are excited that the Google Overlords have chosen to pull their own fiber. They have been very nice: no special credits, they pull the required permits, respect right-of-ways, and are picking 100 non profits for free Google fiber. The system speed and support of the community blows TWC and AT&T out of the fucking water.

The best part is one can pay $700 and get Google Fiber for 10 years. I've already dropped TWC and currently use AT&T Uverse, which is OK. But when the day comes I can use Google Chromecast, I will gladly let Google have some monies AND allow NSA to monitor what I watch. I hope they enjoy my porn library, because it's awesome and I look forward to never seeing anything mentioning an Ice Road Trucker, Tundratwat, Honey Boo Boo, or the Duggars because that shit will be blocked - with prejudice.

Oh fuck, I can't read this. I just spent a week without cable (TV or internet, which I need in order to work and PAY THE FUCKING COMCAST BILL). For 7 days they told me it was an area-wide outage. For 7 days they promised service would be restored in three hours. Finally they sent some contract guy out and he discovered that moles had chewed through the cable in my back yard, which Fucking Comcast had buried approximately 0.30 inches below ground.
