In addition to Star Wars Day (which it actually isn’t, it just makes a passable pun), can we also spare a moment to remember the 56th anniversary of the Kent State shootings. And while we’re at it, since nobody seems to remember the Jackson State shootings that took place 11 days after they ones at KSU (if they knew of them at all) let us spare a thought for those victims as well: Phillip Lafayette Gibbs and James Earl Green
I remember Kent State vividly, since it happened on my 10th birthday. I didn’t learn about the Jackson State shootings until I was in high school. And then only because it was mentioned in the foreword of The Trial of Billy Jack, a film listed as “one of history’s 50 worst movies”. it somehow more aware than all the news media of the early- to mid-70s.
'Blanche tried to argue, as others have done, that Trump being open and public about his intentions somehow blocks off charges that his actions are political or an illegal abuse of power.'
TFG:
"Was that wrong? I swear to God if someone, anyone, had said something, I'd NEVER have done that..."
"The federal judge dismissed that case because he found that the U.S. attorney was not properly appointed. That’s not a – there was no final finding on the facts or anything like that."
Does anyone else remember when the right discovered "process crimes" which were things that are technically crimes but which shouldn't count because they are only crimes because they're illegal. Trump, if you remember, was only found guilty of "process crimes".
“We have the evidence, but we will not produce it” Just like Guiliani’s & Dime Bag Mike Lindell’s election fraud “evidence” which they never showed because it never existed. Imaginary, delusional, fascist hallucinations. Blanche asserting that we don’t know what was presented to the Grand Jury. Discovery should take care of that.
As I posted here a few days ago, this absurd prosecution is not just vile political rhetoric, it is actually a criminal act, covered in the so called KKK Laws, which specifically is directed against government officials abusing their power.
There is a criminal statute and a civil statute , known as the KKK Laws which cover this. What Blanche, Patel, & Boyle have done , and are doing, is actually a crime, called ‘Deprivation of Rights Under Color of (Law)’. ‘Under Color of Law’ means a person who occupies a position of governmental authority, and uses that position of authority to deprive an American citizen(s) of their Constitutional Rights. Which is what this indictment is, from start to finish. This indictment is such an egregious criminal act that it must be used to disbar Blanche and Boyle ASAP. Further crimes were probably committed in the presentation of this case to the Grand Jury, because it is inconceivable that a group of American citizens anywhere in this country could possibly consider this to be a criminal threat to anyone.
The law to which I am referring to is :
18 U.S. Code § 242 – Deprivation of rights under color of law.
The law providing for civil action, law suits, is :
81 years ago, the Danish radio broadcast the awaited news, that the Nazi army had surrendered unconditionally in Denmark. No more blackout curtains. Candles in windows.
They're being paid to be dumb. I imagine many lawyers have a price sheet that has a premium charge for "dumb". "Oh, you want us to say that? We're going to have to revise the retainer to cover embarrassment and dumbfuckery."
My problem with the “showing ID to get into a club or restaurant” argument, aside from its batshit, is that neither of those are rights enshrined in the Constitution. Voting is, and the Supreme Court determined that poll taxes are unconstitutional. Show me a state where you can acquire ID for free, and we can discuss requiring ID to vote.
The way I see it is if I can't get into the restaurant or club without an ID, I doubt the Mango martini or sweet potato fries I would certainly choose against will win an destroy the world...

I'm so sick of getting carded every time I walk into a Taco Bell. I know the Democrats must be responsible for this.
It’s enough to start a war in iran. .

Right...
Just put my candles in windows
81 years ago, the Danish radio broadcast the awaited news, that the Nazi army had surrendered unconditionally in Denmark. No more blackout curtains. Candles in windows.
Fuck the Nazis.
20 people have already told me "May the 4th be with you" today... so can I fucking go home now?
I stopped celebrating years ago. It's way to commercial these days. Practically a Hallmark Holiday!
I could get a 20% discount on my coffee this morning if I said it to the barista.
I didn't get a 20% discount on my coffee this morning.
You are the best!
I prefer to think of today as Inter Caetera day.

Just reply 4 dead in Ohio.
For added creepiness, add “what if you knew her, and found her dead on the ground?”
Abe Froman, the sausage king of Chicago, does not have to present his ID at restaurants.
So “ceasefire” over.
I believe it's spelled "sees fire"

Nah. Pharma yoked him. The amicus brief just made the news.
Hell of a place. Between big pharma and big Christian
So the "tip" hit his bank account?
Yeah,that makes sense, too.
it continues to amaze me how someone who attended college, law school, passed the bar exam, can be as dumb as a fence post
Could be that they (Repugs) just think that the rest of us are dumb because their kind believes any and all of their shit which they spew
As someone who taught people like them for 30 years, I’m not amazed in the least.
They're being paid to be dumb. I imagine many lawyers have a price sheet that has a premium charge for "dumb". "Oh, you want us to say that? We're going to have to revise the retainer to cover embarrassment and dumbfuckery."

Or be such a crass asshole that thinks everyone is too dumb to notice that they're lying through their teeth.

Dispatches from the dystopia, May 4th, 2026
Making a burrito, realized I’m out of hot sauce.
How? Why did I not have back stock?
Grabbed a twenty off my dresser, put on my outside shoes and headed down to the 7-11.
All they had was Tobasco, but I guess it’s better than nothing. Get to the counter, put down the Tobasco and the twenty.
“ID, please sir!”
Huh? The fuck, it’s Tobasco sauce not beer I think as I scratch my bald head.
“ID, please sir!”
Shit, this guy’s for real?
Stumble back home, grab my ID out of wallet, back to the 7-11.
Tobasco sauce, twenty spot, and my drivers license on the counter.
“We need a valid passport for that purchase, sir.”
Are you fucking kidding me? Goddamn I hate this timeline.
Back home. Grab my passport, back to the 7-11.
Tobasco sauce, the twenty, my ID and my goddamn passport.
The guy at the counter smiles, then calmly points to the sign next to the register:
No cash sales.
Clerk never got to the part where you need a HazMat license to transport the Tabasco sauce……
Just sayin’….
Also, you forgot to bring three months of utility bills.
lol yes.

It's free from 12-12 30p. Every 5th Tuesday. At our busiest location.
The way I see it is if I can't get into the restaurant or club without an ID, I doubt the Mango martini or sweet potato fries I would certainly choose against will win an destroy the world...
Obviously not true for the polling locations.
Yeah? Well, you know, that's just like uh, your opinion, man.
