Tom DeLay Still Innocent
Justice was finally served in the Lone Star state today as the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals refused to un-drop charges of conspiracy against Tom DeLay.
The judge ruled that the law DeLay violated wasn't a law until the year after he violated it. Money laundering and conspiring to launder money were definitely crimes when DeLay committed them, though, so his legal problems aren't quite over yet.
This proves yet again that in our justice system anyone can get a fair break as long as they're well-off and powerful. And evil. Evil helps the most.
Reached for comment, Travis County Prosecutor Ronnie Earle promised to reporters that he'd get that DeLay one of these days, then he puffed on his cigar and asked the sherrif to pick up ol' Tom for shine runnin'.
