"Men are leaders" says Charlie Kirk, noted small face tosser.
I kinda want to just ignore that, because we've all known women in strong positions.
Quite honestly, I prefer women in exec roles. That's personal preference though. Although I've known godawful exec women. Well what a surprise. Humans are human.
Now I'm going to write a thing about leadership. I've been good at this. I've watched people try it, too.
When I do it, I have to be the best at whatever I'm doing. That's just what it is. That's not fucking enough. I have to teach everyone else what I know so they get to my level. I'm not scared of people learning. I want them to be as good as me. Shit bosses are fearful of it. I want to teach.
Another thing of leadership is that it's not telling people what to do. People ask you what to do. And you give the best answer you can. There's a lot of ambiguity in the world.
There's a politician out there who learned from me. Zie says "I learned from [fukui] that once you hit a certain point of expertise that there is no right or wrong answer. You have to work it out yourself and it's very difficult."
That I taught that? I'm pleased. Because that is how it fucking works.
"Men are leaders". My ass. Give me a Babe Paley or Let Me Sum Up any day.
People don't like to pay that much and I'm in my 50s and so I'm an old man so companies think "well you're nearly dead anyway and what the fuck do you know?" and I get rejected.
I was just thinking that I should invoke a news blackout for the day. It’s all so horribly bleak, and I have other stressful things going on right now.
...The survey captured the state of the race in early September at a moment of unusual flux. The day after polling began, The New York Times reported that President Trump and powerful figures in New York City were endeavoring to create a one-on-one contest between Mr. Cuomo, 67, and Mr. Mamdani, a 33-year-old state assemblyman and democratic socialist.
The extraordinary effort has included negotiations about Mr. Adams potentially suspending his campaign and accepting a nomination to be ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Presidential advisers have also discussed strategies to try to push Mr. Sliwa out of the race.
The Times/Siena College poll underscored the potential impact of shrinking the field. Doing so, it suggested, could meaningfully erode Mr. Mamdani’s lead, but only if both Mr. Adams and Mr. Sliwa — who have vowed to keep running — suspended their campaigns...
When I was at One Medical and later Amazon I was making more money than is sane to earn.
It wasn't finance company but I'd be getting a$75K bonus here and a $125K bonus there and another bonus and my base salary was $295K
It was a lot of money. Too much, really. I wasted a lot of it. I gave a lot to wonkette and people here. A lot to charity. One of the charities was Black Girls Code.
That's the charity I give my time to now. I do this because it tends to be young women from badly educationally served areas. Race is just ... well, race is what it is. These kids don't get proper education.
BGC is amazeballs with the level of education it gives to people. It's what the Fed education system should be like. I do it. I meet people from Google and Apple and all kinds. These are people who want underserved kids to win.
I cannot say how much I love this. I tell my friends about it and tell them to do it. Sometimes it's nuts because one of my friends says "Oh they use Scratch? I worked on that at MIT!" because I work with awesome people.
Give back. Just give back. I do this. Give back, friends.
So he's going to invade a sovereign nation that hasn't attacked us in any way, shape, or form, while at the same time, he's invading our cities. This should go well, especially since they have taken "the woke" out of the military, which means that many experts have been fired. Oh, I hear that recruitment is down across the board for the armed services.
Delusions of grandeur. stupidity, arrogance, and racism all wrapped in once ugly package!
Venezuela looks to be an easy target. It's like the biggest bully on the schoolyard taking the candy from a baby and kicking over it's pram and then stomping on it. All while pining for a Nobel Prize.
I think we might need different terms to describe French politics in English. This isn't great, obviously, but from what I'm able to understand of the French system it's kind of built for this. American and even British press, or at least their headlines, make it seem like the country's on the verge of anarchy.
Moses Mike is the pinnacle of "christian" religious hypocrisy. He clutches his cross and bible, and then pushes votes that counter the basic teachings of his lord and savior. The text book example of why the authors of the Constitution were so adamant about keeping the church and state separate.
Alley cats are embarrassed at Mike's lack of morals.
I'm not sure that he's a hypocrite. To be a hypocrite, you have to go against what you believe in, but I have seen no evidence that Moses Mike believes that Jesus Christ is his lord and savior. Yeah, he says it, but has never acted on the things that Jesus told his followers to do, so he's a liar.
Come to think of it, the evidence is that tr*mp is Moses Mike's lord and savior, and he's not hypocritical about it at all.
Disagree. That he says it, that he claims one thing and does another, is proof of his hypocrisy. At least as laid out in that Bible by the Jesus guy. I believe the relevant quote is "I never knew you"
The one good thing that tr*mp did in his first term was to enable Operation Warp Speed to develop Covid vaccines, but now, he has turned many Americans against the Covid vaccines. I spoke to an acquaintance yesterday, who isn't stupid, but has fallen for the "Covid vaccines are dangerous" nonsense. He's getting the flu shot, and any others recommended by his doctor, except the Covid vaccine. Sigh.
I got mine on Sunday, flu and covid. I heard the tech talking to another customer, saying she refuses to be vaccinated. Any of them. Said she trusts her immune system, sunshine, and echinacea to keep her healthy. The pharmacist jumped down her throat, politely.
The US (and the world) would be a much better place if there was a strain of COVID that was 100% lethal but with a vaccine that was 100% effective, readily available to anyone who wanted it.
I rejoice that more stooopitt Americans will croak while at the same time despair at all of the collateral damage that will be done to innocent Americans. The net result is that I'm still pissed off. You just can't win in this shithole anymore.
You've accidentally described the difference between teaching a group of people who, at least to some degree, want to be there and want to learn a thing, and your average public school classroom where the kids have already been convinced that there's nothing of value going on.
I think it's a societal problem. Our culture doesn't value education, generally, and so kids are told in hundreds of ways, some more subtle than others, that school isn't really worth the effort. By the time they get to me, they've been hearing that for fifteen years or more, and that's a huge wall of apathy to overcome. Also, because school is mandatory, kids are forced to be there, it's not their choice to do it. And I don't know that it should be, but it doesn't help many of them feel like it's something worth taking seriously.
All this reads like the first chapter of MAGA fan slash-fiction. Bessent/Pulte. First they fight then they f
My niece could slap the shit out of Bessent 🤣
Good, they're thinning the herd.

Even Redneckistan knows what he's doing.
I'm an asshole. My lower limit for jerbs is really $250K but really fucking hell I want nearer $750K.
Because I'm an asshole.
There's a fun one though. It uses my Oxford degree. They don't want to pay $200K.
I'd ... I'd take $150K to do this. Machine learning for radiological scans? Yes. Give me equity. I would like to do this you c*nt. Yes.
You know what you're worth, that's not being an asshole.
People don't like to pay that much and I'm in my 50s and so I'm an old man so companies think "well you're nearly dead anyway and what the fuck do you know?" and I get rejected.
You can teach their younger people and they won’t have to pay you for more than a few years until you retire!
So the guy accusing everyone else of Mortgage Fraud!!!! Is himself doing Mortgage Fraud?

Nothing says Democratic representative like being backed by the Republican President.
Lol, look Trump offering Adams the Ambassadorship of Saudi Arabia to drop out XD
Did they seriously think Adams voters would break for Trump ... er I mean ... no that's what I mean.

Nobel Peace Prize seeking Moron In Chief is prepping for a ground war in Venezuela.
Idiocracy was a tepid Hallmark romance compared to our current shitshow.
How can you create peace if there's no war to stop?
I don't think one receives peace prizes for blowing random boats out of international waters.
Or stabbing innocent fishermen in the lungs so that they sink
But this was the first he heard of that, so it doesn't count!
Not just Venezuela. I truly believe he's itching to start another world war.
With us as the bad guys this time.
I did not have “watching the world disintegrate” on my old-age Bingo card.

Waiting for the garbage man to collect it.
Or to toss the bag in the bathtub and drown it.

That's what my eldest was saying last night. The government in Paris collapsed!!! He said.
I said...no it didn't. It's France. That is how they roll

Everybody's going on strike tomorrow, too.
Too bad the Bastille was torn down. France needs it more than ever.
I think Magic Mike Johnson is cosplaying Colbert cosplaying Republicans

It was my understanding that hypocracy was going against what you say you believe, especially in a moral or religious matters.
By that definition, he's a textbook example.
"Lying for Jesus" is apparently OK in his (not-so-good) book.
I’ve heard that phrase, but it’s a lie. If they are lying, it’s for themselves or for someone they worship more than Jesus.
Disagree. That he says it, that he claims one thing and does another, is proof of his hypocrisy. At least as laid out in that Bible by the Jesus guy. I believe the relevant quote is "I never knew you"

Well, we still have tacos. So there's that.
Until RFKJ proclaims that tacos cause autism.
That would probably *increase* sales ... RFKook is the best advertisement for vaccination.
There will be an autism truck on every street corner!!111```
Well, somebody needs an ass beating.
Start with the magachuds who voted for Trump.
A bunch of somebodies - everyone in the maladministration, but we can start with that smug asshole, Bessent.
Oh ... I vote for Miller and Vought to be first in line.
Yes, Miller #1
You think teachers are crap?
Listen, bitches.
I just got given this.
https://www.prodigygame.com/main-en/blog/active-learning-strategies-examples
and I'm just a volunteer. Not a proper teacher.
Will that be on the test?
Fuck yeah.
There are things I take more seriously than others. I'll do SOC 2 meetings wearing a dress and a fucking unicorn tiara.
When I'm teaching young women, I take that far more seriously than even SEC meetings.
I probably have that backwards, but that's how I treat it.
I'm not joking about this. When you teach young kids, every single word you say is ingested. You are the "person who knows"
Fuck, doing Sarbanes Oxley with PwC, who fucking cares. Just get it done.
Teaching kids how to code. That is important.
You've accidentally described the difference between teaching a group of people who, at least to some degree, want to be there and want to learn a thing, and your average public school classroom where the kids have already been convinced that there's nothing of value going on.

Well, time to really get back into routine. So, walkies.
