As an aside, might I suggest that our current President is a man of extraordinary patience. After 7.5 years of this derp how does he maintain his composure? It is a wondrous thing.

Fresh new disqus account today? Coming here to break it in? Thanks and welcome! Here, try this;

If the arab spring taught us one thing it's that we need not fear the government coming to take our guns. The government should fear us taking theirs.

Now go away, the adults are talking.

Well shit, they're on to us.

Okay, listen up guys, new plans. Confiscation teams 1-6, you're reassigned to fossil burying detail until further notice. The rest of you should report to the abortionplex first thing in the morning. Wear running shoes in case anyone tries to get away. Drone recon crew, keep up the good work and feel free to contact HQ if you need anything.

So, 'everyone' doesn't know what 'everyone' knows, but you personally (unlike 'everyone') know that the gummint is coming to take your guns away because "an outspoken group" doesn't like them and for some reason they've waited til now to do something about it?

I think childishness may be the only part of this you have standing to discuss.

Hello. I think the Democrats made a serious shot at gun control legislation back in the 90s, failed, and have never really tried again. You see, you have to pick your battles, and with the gun lobby owning so many in the Congress, trying to get actual legislation in place is literally ground of no value.Mind you, the Party currently in control of both houses of the Congress (my party, by the way) have nailed their colors to the NRA's position, and they'll cling to it, come hell or high water.

I used to teach karate and hang out with the cops who were students there. Every one of them had a story about a plainclothes cop who was first on a scene and nearly got shot when the uniforms showed up.

As a gun owner, I think it would be all right to make it impossible for terrorists and the insane to own a gun.Don't you?Oh, btw, the NRA is run by gun makers who want to sell more guns. Let that sink in next time you worry about your rights. You are being played, and swallowing the lies, so they get more rich.Hope you like it!

"...an outspoken group doesn't want people to have guns..."

There are also outspoken groups for a myriad of issues. All of them claiming superior insight into every issue and field. Do you know who wins out on these issues? The ones who do the best job of persuading the majority of people that a certain issue should go one way and not another.

And your post, tiny thing that it is, fails to persuade anyone simply because you do not try to persuade people, you only troll people.

There will be even more laughing and giggling and delighted snark-mastery on that court than there is now. Imagine the fun they'll have!
