I'm in the "stop thanking me for my service" camp, and one of the things I always tell people is that any veteran who clamors to be thanked for their service is almost always the very service member that everyone that had to serve with the fucker wanted to frag.
Don't worry about it. I always remind people that you can criticize vets when they deserve it because--hey--what we signed up for was to uphold the fucking Constitution, and that includes the part that says you have have freedom of speech.
