TRUMP DOESN'T CARE, HE BELIEVES PUTIN!
If you thought you were crazy thinking Trump is a literal actual Russian agent, Andrew McCabe is here to clear all that up for you.
Last week, we started getting excerpts from fired acting FBI director Andrew McCabe's new book The Threat: How The FBI Protects America In The Age Of Terror And Trump, and we are both happy and horrified to report that his book tour continues! One of the tidbits we learned in theWashington Post review was that we have YET ANOTHER example of a time Donald Trump has shown us that he trusts Vladimir Putin more than he trusts his own intelligence community, and is probably compromised by the Russian president. Here's how the Post put it:
During an Oval Office briefing in July 2017, Trump refused to believe U.S. intelligence reports that North Korea had test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile — a test that Kim Jong Un had called a Fourth of July "gift" to "the arrogant Americans."
Trump dismissed the missile launch as a "hoax," McCabe writes. "He thought that North Korea did not have the capability to launch such missiles. He said he knew this because Vladimir Putin had told him so."
Guys, it is SO MUCH WORSE when McCabe tells the story on "60 Minutes," because his account captures the fucking babyshits temper tantrum nature of Trump's reaction to his intel people.
Former FBI director McCabe explains that Trump believed Putin over US intel about NK missiles: "Intel officials [to… https://t.co/HVM4vweY3m

MCCABE: Intelligence officials in the briefing responded that that was not consistent with any of the intelligence our government possesses. To which the president replied, "I DON'T CARE, I BELIEVE PUTIN!"
HE DOESN'T CARE! YOU'RE NOT HIS REAL DAD! UNCLE PUTIN IS HIS REAL DAD! DONALD IS TAKING HIS TOYS AND GOING HOME! TO MOSCOW! WHERE THEY DON'T LAUGH AT HIS TINY HANDS AND CONSTANT FAILURE!
Wow, that is just very legal and very cool, and we can't fucking imagine why Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein might have mused aloud about whether there were enough Cabinet members ready and willing to invoke the 25th Amendment against President Russian Agent, or why the FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation into whether President Russian Agent is literally a Russian agent, since it's fairly obvious that he is.
Sunday night's "60 Minutes" interview with McCabe had him talking about ALL THE THINGS, including what led the FBI to open the "Is Trump A Russian Agent?" investigation:
MCCABE: There were a number of things that caused us to believe that we had adequate predication, or adequate reason and facts, to open the investigation. The president had been speaking in a derogatory way about our investigative efforts for weeks, describing it as a witch hunt ... publicly undermining the effort of the investigation. The president had gone to Jim Comey and specifically asked him to discontinue the investigation of Mike Flynn which was a part of our Russia case. The president then fired the director. In the firing of the director, the president specifically asked Rod Rosenstein to write the memo justifying the firing and told Rod to include Russia in the memo. Rod, of course, did not do that. That was on the president's mind. Then, the president made those public comments that you've referenced both on NBC and to the Russians which was captured in the Oval Office. Put together, these circumstances were articulable facts that indicated that a crime may have been committed. The president may have been engaged in obstruction of justice in the firing of Jim Comey.
SCOTT PELLEY: What was it specifically that caused you to launch the counterintelligence investigation?
MCCABE: It's many of those same concerns that cause us to be concerned about a national security threat. And the idea is, if the president committed obstruction of justice, fired the director of the of the FBI to negatively impact or to shut down our investigation of Russia's malign activity and possibly in support of his campaign, as a counterintelligence investigator you have to ask yourself, "Why would a president of the United States do that?" So all those same sorts of facts cause us to wonder is there an inappropriate relationship, a connection between this president and our most fearsome enemy, the government of Russia?
PELLEY: Are you saying that the president is in league with the Russians?
MCCABE: I'm saying that the FBI had reason to investigate that. Right, [the existence of an investigation] doesn't mean someone is guilty. I would say, Scott, if we failed to open an investigation under those circumstances, we wouldn't be doing our jobs.
Unprecedented circumstances call for unprecedented actions!
McCabe covered a lot of other ground in the interview ( transcript ), which we will bullet point because it might be a federal holiday but we are BUSY:
McCabe confirms that yes, Rod Rosenstein discussed wearing a wire into the White House, and that the general counsel of the FBI "had a heart attack" when the idea was brought to him, and said, "we're not there yet." We feel like the word "yet" was doing a lot of heavy lifting in that conversation.
McCabe also confirms that the 25th Amendment was discussed, but says that entire time -- again, Trump had just fired the FBI director, James Comey, pretty obviously to obstruct the investigation into his and his own team's connections with Russia, and FBI/DoJ was trying to figure out what the fuck was going on and was this president a Russian agent -- was "frenzied and chaotic." He also says Rosenstein was extremely concerned about the "capacity and intent" of Trump, to which we reply, "SO ARE WE." (We should note that DoJ responded to CBS's interview with a statement that says "The deputy attorney general never authorized any recording" of Trump, and "Nor was the deputy attorney general in a position to consider invoking the 25th Amendment." LOL WEASEL WORDS.
McCabe does not believe the cover story that Jeff Sessions fired him mere hours before his pension kicked in because of the inspector general report that found he lied under oath about authorizing media leaks about the Hillary Clinton investigation. Rather, he says, "I believe I was fired because I opened a case against the president of the United States."
Oh hey, speaking of that dipshit, let's see what's on his mind this morning!
Wait, we are very confused, Mister President! Are you saying McCabe and Rosenstein are deranged liars, or are you saying they are telling the truth about the 25th Amendment and "wire tapps"? Haha, oops, Wonkette has made the mistake of trying to make sense of the dementia words that fly out of the president's asshole, OUR BAD.
And while we're on the subject of people who are obviously compromised!
Lindsey Graham, whose patriotism was apparently accidentally buried in the coffin with John McCain, is SO MAD about all this, because Graham is clearly OK with the president of the United States being an obvious Russian intelligence asset, and it doesn't bother him that Rod Rosenstein was reportedly worried about the "capacity and intent" of Donald Trump, as McCabe said in the "60 Minutes" interview.
Here are some snippets from the transcript of Graham on "Face The Nation":
Full interview: Sen. Lindsey Graham for Feb. 17, 2019 www.youtube.com
SENATOR LINDSEY GRAHAM: While he's publicly denied it, but, the whole point of Congress existing is to provide oversight of the executive branch. So through good reporting by "60 Minutes," there's an allegation by the acting FBI director at the time that the deputy attorney general was basically trying to do an administrative coup, take the president down to the 25th Amendment process. The deputy attorney general denies it. So I promise your viewers the following; that we will have a hearing about who's telling the truth, what actually happened. Mr. McCabe, you remember, was dismissed from the FBI for leaking information to the press. So you've got to remember the source here. [...]
What are people to think after they watch "60 Minutes" when they hear this accusation by the acting deputy- acting FBI director that the deputy attorney general encouraged him to try to find ways to count votes to replace the president?
That the president is so hopelessly compromised by Vladimir Putin that the FBI and DOJ, including people he appointed , were worried enough to be talking about it. And the fact that Senator Lindsey Graham, chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is acting like this, just reinforces our suspicion that either the Russians or Trump's thugs at AMI/ National Enquirer have a file on Graham THIS THICK, that Graham has been made aware of what they have, and that it's bloody AWFUL.
Everything else Graham said on "Face the Nation" was batshit Devin Nunes Fox News conspiracy theories about FISA court abuses and Peter Strzok's text messages and the DODGY DOSSIER, and he basically sounds like Carter Page at this point, so he can go fuck himself. Oh yeah, and Graham defended the fake NATIONAL EMERGY the president declared on Friday, the one the president also admitted on Friday, while declaring it, that he didn't need to declare.
What is wrong with the people in charge of this country right now? Everything. Just fucking everything.
