Farmers voted for this chuckfuckle and they will--like everyone who gets too close to the Orange God Who Rules Our Nation With His God-Like Benevolence-- be ruined, absolutely ruined, by him. Few businesses are more dependent on the weather than farming. Duh

We’re seeing record breaking rain and temps 10 degrees higher than normal RIGHT NOW. Spring plants are trying to bloom. The bees aren’t hibernating.

Nothing to see here. It’s probably fine.

Next fall’s fire season should be LIT. Next summer’s crops don’t need no happy bees to pollinate them.

Back in 2006, I had the pleasure of visiting NCAR and interviewing several of the top scientists there for a project I was working on. It was honestly my first time to actually delve deeply into climate science. Before that, I had just let me views be shaped by whatever news or article I happened to stumble across. These interviews and seeing the prediction models first-hand made an enormous impression on me. 1) Generally speaking, these scientists are apolitical. They are number nerds first and foremost. 2) so much so... that back then they admitted that they struggled to deliver effective messaging about the climate crisis. To them... the numbers should speak to the public as loudly as they did to them. 3) They practice what they preach. To get to work, they hiked, jogged or rode bikes up the mountain or used public transport to minimize carbon emissions. They used as little non-drinking water as possible, used only bio-degradable plateware, utensils etc. This was 2006 and that commitment was something I'd seen to that degree before. Good folks. Serious scientists with unbelievable CVs. They are also a bit nervous because even back then they were under attack by stupid conservatives like Inhoff. I feel for them right now. They can't be taking this well.

Temps reached near 50•F today. Rained all day getting rid of most of the snow. Wind to pick up later with 'snow squalls'tonight. Real feelz 10 below by morning.

Grass is still green due to foot of snow after Thanksgiving and the ground hadnt froze.

According to phenology. This is the same weather pattern as the last two Decembers. So warmer temps in January very little precipitation also.

Sure Jan... this is Wisconsin.

I'm a little west of you. We had our high for the day about 3:00 AM, about 42° F. Now it's about 15°F, heading south. A little rain overnight. A dusting of snow, less than an inch, today. But getting ungodly windy. Tonight'll be a nasty night to be out.

We're looking at a 40+ degree temp swing, which is totally normal obvs, so I told the kid to wash her car yesterday and stay off the roads until tomorrow afternoon if possible.

You stay safe too, it's going to be a shitshow once the roads ice up!

HOLY SHIT -- Fox News's John Roberts pushes Lutnick on the fact that Trump's claims about cutting drug prices by 600% are literally mathematically impossible.

Lutnick says "basically what he's saying, and we all know what he's saying, is we're hammering the price of drugs down."

.

The problem is, The Base is so profoundly ignorant they have no idea what any numbers mean, they'd have been happy with the still incredibly stupid "110%."
