All the hateful lies and angry rhetoric designed to pit 1/2 the nation against the other was just as filthy and shameless in 1970. On that day, when the National Guard opened fire on a college campus of unarmed student protesters, 4 kids were shot to death, including one boy, age 20, named Jeffrey Miller, shot in the mouth as he no doubt incredulously faced the firing squad. Moments later, the 14-year-old runaway, Mary Ann Vecchio he’d been talking to realized he was shot, fatally, and knelt down next to him screaming for help. Her desperate scream was caught on film by a 21-year-old college photographer, who won the Pulitzer for the image.
What followed was a misinformation campaign by the right to destroy Vecchio’s character and her humanity in an attempt to help Nixon and the government escape accountability.
The then governor of Florida said this about her, claiming without evidence that she was “part of a nationally organized conspiracy of professional agitators” that was “responsible for the students’ death.”
A politician, a governor of the state of Florida where Vecchio was from, called a 14-year-old runaway a “professional agitator,” perhaps even funded by a young George Soros, and said she was “responsible” for the Guard murdering students. Why am I bringing this up now? No reason. My mind just wanders I guess.
This is terrifying. The message is clear: you are either a nazi or a terrorist. You are either with us or against us, and if you are against us we will kill you.
No small irony in the fact that the rabid gunhumpers, after decades of insisting they needed guns to defend against tyranny, are itching to start shooting people on behalf of the first tyrant to actually show up.
There's actually nothing to stop Stupid Hitler from calling you an “Antifa terrorist” and blowing up your boat. Or your bus full of people headed for the No Kings march.

We are WAY past “mechanisms” for enforcing alleged DT activity. How about insurrection, treason or disturbing the peace? It won’t matter. Kirk was an opportunity to harness rage and use it as fuel to turbocharge Project 2025 and oppress any liberal views. It didn’t matter that the shooter appears to share scant or no leftist views, a Trump supporter was assassinated and that’s enough for them. They will find ways to sue organizations in civil court for billions to force silence or compliance and put them out of business. And prosecute any protests they don’t like. Mechanics.
