Trump Hosted A Happy Hour With Ginni Thomas' Conspiracy Kook Funtime Gang
Clarence Thomas' awful wife is awful.
Ginni Thomas, wife of Clarence Thomas, is a terrible person. A really, really terrible person. Like, she once had the gall, in 2010, to ring up Anita Hill, the woman her a-hole of a husband notoriously sexually harassed, and leave this message on her answering machine:
Good morning, Anita Hill. Its Ginni Thomas. I just wanted to reach across the airwaves and the years and ask you to consider something. I would love you to consider an apology sometime and some full explanation of why you did what you did with my husband. So give it some thought and certainly pray on this, and hope that one day you will help us understand why you did what you did. OK, have a good day.
These days, she writes for The Daily Caller, has a conspiracy-laden Facebook page , and heads up a group full of equally terrible people called Groundswell. It was this group that met with Donald Trump last Wednesday, following a dinner she and her sex-creep husband had with him.
The group included noted conspiracy freak and Islamophobe Frank Gaffney, Rosemary Jenks of the anti-immigration think tank NumbersUSA, and some lady named Connie Hair, who was introduced as a "conservative columnist" but is actually Louie Gohmert's chief of staff.
Now, you'd think they'd all be BFFs, but as it turns out, Thomas and her group were there to give him a piece of their minds over the fact that the Trump administration had failed to hire their friends.
Via The New York Times :
A central focus for Ms. Hair and Ms. Thomas was administration appointments that they wanted made, and that they accused the president's aides of blocking. People familiar with the situation indicated that the people Ms. Hair and Ms. Thomas wanted hired were rejected for a range of reasons, and in at least one case, someone was offered a job and declined it because the position was not considered senior enough. Another complaint was that Ms. Thomas had not actually shared the full list of people to be hired, said those familiar with the meeting.
That's definitely a normal thing for the spouse of a sitting Supreme Court judge to demand, right?
They were also mad about trans people and women being able to serve in the military, because they live in a time warp, I guess.
One woman in the group argued that women should not serve in the military because they do not have the physical capacity that men do, according to the people familiar with the events.
And, at some point, Donald Trump brought Ivanka into the room to talk about how much people would like her if she were working for a president with a completely different agenda and was doing entirely different things with her time:
At one point, Mr. Trump pulled in his daughter Ivanka, a West Wing adviser, saying she would be beloved if she were serving a liberal president, instead of getting negative news coverage.
Which I guess is a lot like saying "People really would have liked Ted Bundy if he hadn't gone and murdered all those ladies and gotten negative media attention for having done so!"
Clearly, this was a very coherent and productive meeting, and there is nothing abjectly terrifying about the fact that Ginni Thomas is married to, and has the ear of, a Supreme Court judge. Too bad her friend Jordan Peterson wasn't there to talk to Trump about his plan to redistribute the vaginas.

And now, I leave you to your open thread.
