Also, Obama, and Hillary who was then SOS, very, very, very strongly sanctioned Russia for their military incursion into a sovereign state, which is literally why Putin interfered with the election--he was still pissed at Hillary for having taken such a strong, powerful stand against him. He knew she has his number and would continue to hold firm, as opposed to a weak, moronic, self-obsessed idiot. AND: the point at which observant people truly understood this was exactly the point in the Idiot's campaign where suddenly, for absolutely no reason, he started palavering that "Crimea had always been part of Russia." You know, like the Sudetenland.

He wasn't overselling his program; part of the program was to stop false insurance companies from taking people's money and then not offering any coverage, so if you had one of those scam coverages, yes, you would not have any more scam coverage. Also, and I can't understand why this doesn't get any traction, the ACA benefitted not only the millions of Americans who had no health insurance, it also is ENORMOUSLY meaningful and beneficial to all 250 million Americans who already had private health insurance. Because of the ACA, we now have--and it's really, really important to understand that WE DID NOT HAVE THIS BEFORE: 1. No lifetime cap (before, your medical expenses were literally capped; over a certain amount, you were shit out of luck, sorry if you have a serious disease or a bad accident)2. Kids covered till 26 (before it was 19; this has literally saved our young adult son's life, and our retirement)3. Mental health and substance recovery is covered at parity. Those who are fortunate enough not to need this need to understand: this saves people hundred of thousands of dollars EACH. Rehab and mental health centers cost up to $14K A MONTH; therapy can cost $200/hr; and on and on. This saves individuals who were paying for it, hundreds of thousands of dollars; and frankly, for those who couldn't, makes a difference between life and death.4. Lastly, and most importantly: NO EXCLUSION FOR PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS. Before--anything could be described as a pre-existing condition. Pregnancy? Well, you are female. Mental health? Well, you did once take Xanax that time. This gall bladder operation? Well, when you were 13, you did have that stomach ache. Have we all forgotten so quickly? Did we not realize, when the GOP bruited about those lists of what would be pre-existing conditions (literally, everything), that it would affect every single one of us with any sort of insurance, through our jobs, privately, and otherwise?

It's not just that: the false notion that somehow "I don' wanna pay for someone else's medical care" needs to be replaced, everywhere, with the more correct sentiment "You cannot have a strong, healthy, productive, innovative country without a strong, healthy citizenry." Fuck, even Hitler understood that.
