You don't have to tip for fast food. It's the best! As we noted back in December, the Labor Department is pushing a beautiful new rule that will allow restaurant owners to take servers' tips, ostensibly to "pool" them and share tips with workers in the back of the house, just as long as everyone makes at least minimum wage before tips. At least, that's how Labor is selling the rule change: as a way of sharing the wealth (but not socialism, heavens) and giving employers a way of fairly compensating everyone, as long as your definition of "fair" means taking servers' tips away. Besides, the rules that currently protect workers from having their tips taken away by employers were put in place by Barack Obama, so you know they have to be rescinded.
And the great thing is, not only will the rest of the employees be sure get a share of the tips now, all the waitstaff will be so incentivized to give even better service, now that they know getting better tips will help out their co-workers, too. /sarcasm.
The grocery delivery service from Safeway (bought out by Albertson's) prohibits delivery people accepting tips. I haven't tried throwing money on the ground next to their vehicle because I have only had the one delivery, and the person was pretty adamant that he couldn't take a tip.
PayPal charges fees for sellers of items or services, but you can send money to friends and family free. I think they charge a small fee if you use a credit card to send money, but I'm not sure because I send directly from my bank account, which is free. All you need to know is the PayPal account ID of the other person. When people send me money using PayPal, I can transfer it to my bank account free, or I can leave it in my PayPal account and use it to buy things.
