A sailor walks down the street and runs into a skinhead. He's sporting a cardboard placard

that says

"Power to the People."

The sailor responds

"We have to stop meeting like this."

This is what the GOP does whenever it has power. For years Americans bought their claim that they manage the economy better than Democrats. Nothing could be further from the truth. Why don't people remember that there is always a recession when the GOP is in power, and Democrats always come in and clean up their mess! Most economic concerns proclaimed the Biden economy "the envy of the world" at the end of his term. Everything was getting back on track when Trump regained the presidency. Ten months in what do economist say about the state of things?

So, does this mean anyone who is prosecuted for crimes can sue for defamation of character?

This is the Trump administration's ploy to claim Republicans who are charged with crimes are above the law, and should therefore be paid for their troubles when juries rightfully hold them accountable. Ashley Babbit was caught breaking and entering and yet her family received a huge sum as if she did nothing wrong.

I read recently that trump has profited more in the past 10 months than he did in his entire career as a developer and pimping out the trump name. That is what his gross profits were. There was no adjustments for his 6 bankruptcies and dozens of failed businesses. If they had included that the number would be much much higher.

Here is a question for all the political pundits that get paid to sputter gibberish

, “name 1 piece of Republican sponsored legislation signed into law under a Republican majority Congress, that actually helped the average family MORE, than the wealthy and corporate donor demo”.

There isn't a single policy we can point to where Republicans did anything for anybody. They branded themselves "the Party of Abraham Lincoln" to fool people into thinking they agreed with Lincoln when he enancipated the enslaved. They were "the party of family values" and devout Christians. People never noticed that those labels were claimed by the GOP itself, and were always lies.

The problem is that their current family values are trumpy family values. What a family!

On top of all this - Ali Velshi just had a segment on MSNOW (that's what MSNBC is called now under new corporate ownership - of course Russell Vought is trying to get rid of the CFPB; you knew the whole plan of Project 2025 was to try to get rid of everything good in the country, "hopefully" the world, for anyone who is not rich, male, & White

A great deal about Trump's assault on America is unprecedented, but this "looting the treasury" part is actually predictable. Every time the GOP gets into power, they loot the treasury like hogs feeding from a trough. They know that eventually even the more dimwitted voters will catch on and boot them out of office, so they go at it as quickly and intensely as possible. If you'd like to see yet another gigantic transfer of wealth upwards from the poor and middle-class to the rich, it's easy: just for Republicans and watch them steal and grift as much as they can.
