OT - there's something missing from the English (American) language. In referring to the last election, one says "we elected Trump". That "we" seems wrong. I didn't elect him, and neither did half of the people voting. Is there a different way of saying this, that doesn't erase the half that didn't elect Trump?
I could understand an argument that a Tik-Tok app ban does, contrary to the Biden Administration's argument, implicate the First Amendment. I could also understand arguments that issues related to apps are matters of trade, and if the Great Firewall of China is blocking Facebook, Google, and so on, then the US needs a counter.
The "argument" that Trump is a special boy and therefore Congressionally legislated dates should just be swept aside is next-level insane.
It's remarkable how accepting the MSM is with PAB (more specifically, his handlers) being able to issue orders to his SCOTUS bobos before he's even in the WH.
The brief is just amaze-balls as the kids are saying. It’s mostly about how TikTok is great because Trump is a major player on it. And I’m 100% sure the Leonard Leo Six will find that argument very compelling.
I don’t use TikTok because I’m old and I don’t know if it’s actually a tool of the Chinese government bureau of hacking and propaganda. But I do find it deeply disturbing that a billionaire can get a president elect to flip flop with just one stock purchase. But that’s just SOP in the pay to play world of maga.
"TikTok was spawning dangerous teenager trends, like a challenge called “dangerous licks” that every month gave kids some kind of asshole thing to do, like slapping a teacher, or stealing stuff out of school bathrooms"
Still, TilTok has spawned a lot of extremely dangerous "challenges" like biting into Tide detergent pods and the "one chip challenge," both of which sent kids to the hospital.

"And TikTok’s got until January 19 (one day before inauguration!) to save its digital hide. So now Mr. Art O’Deal is in the position of begging the Supreme Court to save TikTok after all, or at least delay its demise."
As I said previously, Harry Moosbawls Mussolini doesn't get to second guess bipartisan legislation just because he sees another way to line his pockets (with a secondary achievement of wrecking a bill of which the Dems approved). Is there anyone in doubt that any "deal" the Fulvous Flatulence makes to let TikTok remain in operation in the US, under its current ownership, will give him, personally, a taste of the action?

"the rights of his 14.7 million TikTok followers who want to watch him do his dong-honking dances on there"
This, in a nutshell, is the entire reason that the Mango Malignancy changed his tune on TikTok. He now has another platform on which to peddle his cheap, ostentatious gewgaws. (For example, $100k for a cheap-ass watch or $60 for an "Americanized" version of the New Testament. [In the good old days all one needed to do to get a copy of the New Testament was break the 8th Commandment and take the ubiquitous Gideons' Bible when checking out of a hotel or motel.])

(Somewhat OT)
"choked with Trump-flag-flapping yokels"
I wonder if the ultra MAGA asshats attaching American flags to their vehicles (mostly, it seems, pickup trucks) are being sacrilegious in order to show the world that they are true "patriots?" A flag, any flag, is sure to tatter when subjected to constant 60+ mph winds it receives when the vehicle is maintaining speed on a highway. The only thing I find that rivals this pseudopatriotism are all of the stickers available of the American flag and the Amber Ardipithecus ramidus' likeness merged into one stylized pic.
Can't say as I ever quite got the appeal of Tik-Tok. I've got two accounts, because Reasons, and I never use either one. BUT that said - there's also a lot of very savvy, very left political information being shared on there (or was, last time I paid attention). And of course, it's hugely popular with The Young Folk. So it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out in the wash, or whatever the saying is.
What exactly gives DJT standing to provide an “Amicus Brief” to delay judgment in this matter? Until Inauguration Day, he is a citizen, not President. Can I do Amicus Briefs too?
As an instigator of thousands of suits and appeals, does DJT bear a commensurate part of the court costs for all this resource consumption?
Apparently a lot of young people were persuaded to vote for the convicted felon via Tik-Tok posts, so that's another justification for conveniently forgetting his moral panic concerns about the CCP getting its mitts on the private and proprietary information of Americans.

Does America need any further proof of the nefarious nature of Tik Tok than lasagna soup? We need to be thinking of the children!
TikTok sounds like Satan's Back Door!
Hey, I don't typically follow the food-making people on Tiktok, but that Nara Smith is really something.
He's always been for sale.

They're billionaire-owned as well, and these billionaires have no compunctions about interfering in editorial decisions
As do Demenia Donnie's Chine$e owners!
And Elno's
Same thing.

The Tidepods were a Reddit joke.

Some questions:

I'm not on Tik Tok but in my wonderings I sometimes come across one. What I've seen is ok, but
not enough for me to want to join.
EX: A girl is getting ready to go out. She tells her mom she is going out with her friends.
Her mom says "OK Sweetie, be sure you take some protection."
Girl says "MOM! I'm only 16 years old!"
Mom "Yes Honey I know! And I'm only 32 years old."

Kakikostracy mixed with widespread graft and influence peddling. What a direction we have going for us!
