What?He's negotiating with the outgoing guy, with the overt plan being to get something signable in front of congress before the deadline (of 90 days before the new guy is officially in office), so I don't get your comment. Who is he negotiating with before they take office, now?

so, one of the 'provisions' of the 'trade deal' is that 45% of cars must be assembled by workers making at least $16 per hour...i wonder if they ran that past the average UAW line worker, who would stand to lose at least $6 per hour if this 'provision' were accidentally somehow on purpose-like used to drive wages down (or more likely, send more assembly to mexico, killing more jobs here) heeennnnnggghh?

Sort of, there was the EEC which was debating whether to deepen existing ties or broaden membership. They went for the latter and in 1981 Greece joined which was the first of the shitty economies to do so.

So is this going to be like the trade deal with the EU, where Juncker (who doesn't officially have the authority to make trade deals) got Trump to back down on tariffs by agreeing to buy a bunch of stuff the Europeans were planning to buy anyway?
