There are plenty of far-right men in Australia - out in the countryside. The difference is we have mandatory voting. So the countryside will always be a minority vote. Australia is far from a socialist utopia; it's just better than the USA (especially if you work for a living. The difference in worker's rights here and there is pretty huge). And in no danger of fascism, again thanks to the mandatory vote.
I got my brother a job here. I have been scheming for a way to get my nephews over. If your daughter can emigrate... I think she should. If she is your only child, eventually she might be able to bring you over on a family visa. :)
