The world doesn't think he's a good president. A few countries are happy to use him, but they're laughing behind his back.

I've seen articles about world leaders frantically calling Obama. There's a ton of shadow diplomacy going on... because other countries can't stand trump.

The US situation is complicated. Those who support Trump do so for a million different reasons, some rooted in tribal politics, some rooted in fantasy and propaganda. It's like the perfect storm. A bunch of little factors combined to create a monster. I just hope we learn something from it.

Weird review of Comey's book in Vanity Fair this week. They're definitely not Trump fans, but this particular article concludes Comey is blinded by his visceral dislike of Trump. For example, Comey talks about Bush's torture program; the details are graphic and horrific. Yet according to the reviewer, though Comey hates torture, he doesn't hate Bush for it. Another part of the book talks about Comey preventing an attempt at blatant corruption on the part of the Bush admin. Again, he describes horrible stuff, but without the gut level condemnation he has for Trump.

It's a depressing article because it's true. Our gov does ugly stuff and always has. The article comes right out and says Comey--and by extension other Trump haters-- find it easier to tolerate horrors when they're done by an establishment type--and we'd be rioting in the streets if Trump were as bad as Bush.

Well, I loathed Bush and lost sleep over his crap and know we'll be paying for his mistakes a long, long time. But it's true I loathe Trump more and agonize over him more, even though Bush did worse things. SO I'm thinking about that.

Doesn't make me feel better about Trump. Does make me feel worse about the country.

Nevertheless, I believe we'll be alright once the millennials wrest power from the boomers. 95% of the most evil politicians are white male boomers. The next election is the first time millennials outnumber boomers in terms of eligible voters. It may take a few years to get millennials voting I'm sufficient numbers... but there's hope.

To cheer up, I look at the electoral college map of 2016 voters under age 30. Forty-five out of fifty states are blue.

Hang in.
