Police accompanied a huge Sanitation truck; the sanitation workers stole all their wares and the cops gave them a $1000 ticket. They don't speak English. I'm glad it wasn't ICE, but I'm sure if they go to court, they'll be swept up. Anyway, where are fruit vendors, who buy at Hunts Point Market and fill their car with goods to sell, going to come up with $1000 for the fine? And that seems excessive for vending without a proper license.
My wife and I are back in PDX this afternoon after three weeks in the Rockies. Our city is exactly as we left it. Very quiet and peaceful. I imagine some of my fellow townsman will try to get violent tonight at the South Waterfront ICE building
