I think part of our Trump problem is trying to see him as an entire rational human being. That then forces us to wonder why he behaves so irrationally, and never realizing he is basically a large puppet being managed by the loyal folks around him. He hasn't a clue. They cover for him, Im sure they make helpful suggestions that fit their agenda just fine. And he takes the blame. He never, even in his early "rich boy' phase struck me as being especially sharp, and now he has deteriorated to a nub of a human. The puppet masters are winning.

Trump’s over there admiring gold faucets while America’s cupboards look like a post-apocalyptic Costco. It’s like watching the Hunger Games hosted by Liberace.

The excessive veins in the marble make the place look like it is covered in cobwebs. The veins on the step coming from the shower gives the appearance that it is creeping across the floor and engulfing the entire bathroom.

This would be nightmarish if it was an actual bathroom.

Second-order effects from killing SNAP are 1] farmers who can’t sell their crops to the government that fuel SNAP and 2] grocers who’ll suffer from fewer customers. Learned this yesterday from watching Rick Wilson’s “Behind the numbers”

A truly trashy bathroom redo. But what else would we expect? The hideous gold pipes and fixtures. Ghastly.

I’m pretty sure if Lincoln were alive he would have insisted on more gold in the bathroom remodel.

It was then, however, that the Prince Prospero, maddening with rage and the shame of his own momentary cowardice, rushed hurriedly through the six chambers, while none followed him on account of a deadly terror that had seized upon all. He bore aloft a drawn dagger, and had approached, in rapid impetuosity, to within three or four feet of the retreating figure, when the latter, having attained the extremity of the velvet apartment, turned suddenly and confronted his pursuer. There was a sharp cry -- and the dagger dropped gleaming upon the sable carpet, upon which, instantly afterwards, fell prostrate in death the Prince Prospero. Then, summoning the wild courage of despair, a throng of the revelers at once threw themselves into the black apartment, and, seizing the mummer, whose tall figure stood erect and motionless within the shadow of the ebony clock, gasped in unutterable horror at finding the grave cerements and corpse-like mask which they handled with so violent a rudeness, untenanted by any tangible form.

And now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death. He had come like a thief in the night. And one by one dropped the revelers in the blood-bedewed halls of their revel, and died each in the despairing posture of his fall. And the life of the ebony clock went out with that of the last of the gay. And the flames of the tripods expired. And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.

"The Masque of The Red Death" by Edgar Allen Poe (1842)

Writing as an actual historian of sculpture at the University of Oxford, it’s a pleasure to underline yet another piece of Orange stupidity: no-one, ever, anywhere, is making, has made, will make statues from that bathroom stone. It is to ‘statuary marble’ what leopard-print spandex is to the LBD, or Trump’s foundation is to any known, natural skin tone.

If there weren’t already enough reasons to impeach Trump, that bathroom is another. Not just for the bathroom itself, but for what that tasteless application of marble and gold finishes will do to the property values of so many American homes which used them better…

How very on the nose!! Corruption in The Great Gatsby is a central theme, primarily representing the degradation of the American Dream into a pursuit of wealth and status over moral values. This is seen through Gatsby's illegal activities to achieve wealth, the moral carelessness and entitlement of the wealthy elite like Tom and Daisy, and the general atmosphere of dishonesty and materialism in 1920s society.

👑 Poor Marie Antoinette! She never said to let 'em eat cake. She was ony 10 y.o., and not yet queen, when the writers of the time were using "let them eat [whatever]" to villainize royals. Marie was far more charitable but, when she eventually fell out of favor, all kinds of falsehoods were tagged to her. 😮‍💨

Marie was different from other royals, and certainly from Trump, because she bathed every day!! She also used wonderful perfume blends to enhance her cleanliness...not to cover the incredible stench of the bodies and palaces of the other big-name royals! Like Trump! 🤢
