Back from an existential crisis. How’s everything in the land of maple syrup, stronger lagers and healthcare?

I stayed away from here for sake of still being welcome here later. It was bad for everyone but constructive.

What I really don't get is why Trump would comment on the debate. It only serves to raise the candidates to be on a par with him. He could have said that as "President and leader of the free world, he is far too busy working and making the best yugest deals to pay attention to some random ankle biters". He has writers who would word it better, but still have the same message of I am far more important than they are.

Granted, no one would believe him, but that would make no difference. He could even add that he would get a copy and watch it on the flight back from the G20 of course none of the none of the candidates are important enough to be invited to unlike Princess Vespa. This would still allow him to talk smack about it when he got back to the white house.

But then that would take self control and thinking things through before spouting off. Ok, I see why he did it.

Yep, and unfortunately, no matter who is elected in 2020, a large portion of that stupid is still going to be with us.

“In two weeks”, as we know, means “so you can stop asking about it today”. By the transverse inoperative prionic condition, that means “four weeks” and “the next couple months” each mean “do not ever bother bringing this topic up to me again”.

So Trump announced that Ivanka is going to start taking a salary for her work in the maladministration.

A previous article here notes that's not legal.

IOKIYAR applies.

Here ya there.

The possibility of being stuck on this plane as a ghost with unfinished business and having to watch all this shit with even less ability to do anything about it than I have now also factors in. Might not be a big possibility, hell might not even be a real possibility, but it's still on the menu and I for one ain't riskin' it.

When I was a high school student in the early 1970's in Cheyenne, Wyoming (that hotbed of radical black activism) a teacher was telling us how horrible busing was. I wasn't convinced. "Would you want to be bused?' "Well, actually I already take a long bus ride to school everyday."

I lived out of town so of course I took a bus. There were 2 high schools then. Central and East. I went to East, the whitest school. Central was where the minorities, mostly Native Americans and Hispanics, went. It was the regular school to which I was assigned. However, my Junior High was Johnson, where most of the minorities went. So I experienced both sides.

My senior year we moved to Sturgis, South Dakota where we didn't have to worry about minority people. There were farmers and non-farmers.
