I never understood why the Republican rank and file would be opposed to environmental protection, since who would opposed to clean air and water. It's only businessmen who get upset that they can't just pour waste down the sewer and smoke into the air. Every penny they have to spend pre-treating water or air emissions is a penny out of their pockets and lord knows they covet every penny of profit they can get.
Coding scientific consensus as "religion" seems like a poorly. conceived gambit--typical for Zeldin, but not not likely to win court battles going forward.
Yes, of course, Zeldin is manufacturing propaganda, not litigating. But this strategy is still careless. MAGA folks have been inculcated with the idea that religion (and freedom thereof) trumps all arguments. I would love to see someone hoist Zeldin on his own petard, even if only rhetorically.
Lee Zeldin is such a shithead that NY voters turned their backs on him in 2022. The only reason he got his new job is likely due to his having begged Trump for it. He was pure MAGAt fealty and when he ran for the Senate, he got trounced.
Interesting how many political failures Trump scoops up. This is where he gets the "talent" for his regime. They're easy to push around and are forever grateful that Trump rescued them from a life of not knowing what to do with themselves.
“To hold up in court, such rule changes have always had to follow federal procedures on rulemaking, including public comment, rigorous evidence, proof that they’re allowed by law and all that. So unless courts also allow new, sloppier rule-making, this shit will take some time to enact, and we can fight it.”
Or, just hear me out, or Trump could just tell the courts to fuck off and do whatever he wants. Who’s gonna stop him?
For the record, the successful right wing campaign to abolish Chevron deference may now give them a right proper bite in the ass, because a federal court is now empowered to reject this regulatory nonsense without a thumb on the scale for the agency.
Now please talk about how they plan to eliminate EPA’s Office of Research and Development. No need to regulate if there is no one to tell you what’s being harmed.
Unsurprising is that industry complies with most all of the regulations because A) They are backed by science, B) The consumer gets and appliance or vehicle that gets better mileage, and C) It improves the environment, which includes the waste stream, and D) The feedstock sources are reliable. Case in point: refrigerants. If you look at the nameplate on your refrigerator or AC condenser, and it's been replaced in the past 7 years, it has a flammable refrigerant, usually an isomer of propane or butane (que Hank Hill and propane and propane accessories).
Utilities are spending billions on alternative energy because it's scalable, is less expensive and avoids a whole lot of CAA regulations. And we're not building powerplants.
I noticed that the Peckerhead hasn't said a thing about continued funding of Superfund sites like the spent nuclear materials in Missouri that the Corp of Engineers has been working on.
I really hope he moves to eliminate the use of DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) because if he does, you will see every mobile machine from a combine to a tractor trailer dead in the water because the engines are designed to use this fluid to reduce the carbon emissions.

Lee Zeldin is scum, has always been scum, and will always be scum.

How long before they criminalize having photovoltaic panels on your roof?
Nice country we once had there.

Ta, Dok. This is sick making, although not quite as sickening as Cancer Alley.

Greedy Ouroboros, just a bunch of stupid snakes thinking they are not eating their own tail.
A federal judge ordered the EPA to release $14 million in grants
So, there’s that

This, too, is marking his territory. The first time around he got so much pushback that it became personal for him. It's his typical pattern.
Woodsy Owl needs to fuck some people up.
OT: A report on the Canadian actress kidnapped by ICE said her story includes all the women being forced to pee into Dixie cups for a pregnancy test.
Coming soon: all the women will have uniforms that consist of red dresses and white bonnets.
Kinda conflicts with ICE's prior sekrit sterilizations - pick a lane.
As long as it's not the women making the decisions, it's all the same to them.

Fucking peckerhead.
