IMO the Travel Ban is just red meat for his supporters, esp white racists and evangelicals who cannot stand to have any other religion practiced in this country. Nothing about it is about terrorists cause the DHS has done squat in 90 days. Like the Wall against Mexicans and Latinos. Same hate, different means. Then later he can blame the courts.
