Isn't Donnie "Two Dolls" a fan of "Cats?"

Donnie probably isn't aware the writer was gay and certainly not that he wrote some decent novels, among them "Some Kind of Hero" which was turned into a Richard Pryor movie and "Hit Me With a Rainbow."

His best was "PS Your Cat is Dead," wherein a flailing actor in New York who's had his place burglarized twice ends up trapping and kidnapping the robber when he comes in for thirds and they end up striking a friendship. Or is it just a friendship?

The only play that would be appropriate for trump is The Elephant Man. Because I am sure once he takes off the orange clown makeup and removes the dead rodent off his head, that is what he looks like underneath. But I am only talking about appearance because the Elephant Man had a heart, something that trump never even dreamed to have. He came out of the womb with a need to be accepted into NYC society and hating anyone who was, but the bridge and tunnel guy was always an outcast and always will be.

Arthur "Two-Sheds" Jackson was better than any of them.

I wish people would stop calling Trump and his idiot MAGA followers fascists or nazis. it makes them sound scary. They're not scary at all. They're just a bunch of morons who have accidentally managed to weasel their way into offices they are not qualified for. Nor are they "conservatives, or "Christians" These are serious misnomers which give them a false image of power they are not deserving of in the slightest. Call them what they are, crooks, morons, idiots, charlatans, but refrain from referring to them as anything else.

So like,

Trump thought there was another 26 million dollars sitting in a bank account that he could raid for his personal use?

And there's not!?

Only a promise to donate money in the future???

A promise that can legally be unfulfilled if the Center fails?

Oh too bad...

Now where can we find another $3k to give to Kristi Noem for lunch money?

You can hostile takeover a center for the arts. You can occupy a building with your unsavory body and sycophants. You can hold a theater hostage and refuse to allow free expression. But you’ll never convince talented artists, perhaps especially in theater, to embrace you or your shitty views. Truly talented, creative people are almost exclusively progressive and despise Trump. This squatting in the Center is temporary, just like the White House. Or, the artists will take their talents elsewhere, to places where free expression and inclusion are respected and celebrated. Trump will be left with the cast offs and angry fringe performers like he always is.

“And of course, fascists always hate artistic expression”

Authoritarians love art that serves the cause of promoting the authoritarian regime. The communists, Nazi’s, etc. were big on art as political propaganda.

21st century Republicans have the same view of art. Its purpose is to promote their agenda.

Since most right-wing media isn’t news but propaganda, it’s a form of art/propaganda like every poster from the USSR showing workers marching to the future with Lenin & Stalin’s heads looking on with approval.

Some of them want to take the country to the "Seven Mountains" model in which the (Christian) government controls all the pillars of society as a theocracy. Scary shit.

Utah Sen. Mike Lee wants a bill to make porn illegal, to kind of get the ball rolling.

Oh no, Mike, hate to break it to you. You're a Mormon ,so you'll be among the first sent for "resettlement in the East" after all the heathens and atheists and Scientologists and woke Presbyterians are eliminated.

I dreamed a dream that Andrew Lloyd Webber would publicly state he does not sanction Trump or his regime and refuse the royalty rights. In times gone by, when hope was high and life worth living, I also dreamt that the actors booked there to sing and dance for hateful people declined.

"I also dreamt that the actors booked there to sing and dance for hateful people declined."

That's been happening

Off the top of my head, the casts of both Hamilton and Les Mis said they weren't coming -- which I suspect is also one of the reasons Grennell (who failed at being ambassador TO GERMANY in the last Dump Maladministration bc the GERMANS SAID HE WAS TOO MUCH OF A NAZI, in case nobody else has remembered that) is throwing his hissy hissy fits.

Because that's big big money (as well as big big art).

Of course, the crowning joke to me -- if it all weren't so serious -- is that Confederate Republicans would HAAAAAAAAAAAAATE both Hamilton and Les Mis, if they understood anything they were about.

Also, the CSA Constitution forbade any state from emancipating the black people within its borders.

Not actually a contradiction. To the Slaveocracy, "states rights" meant the right of a minority of slave-economy states to use the Federal government to coerce the rest. So they basically wrote that into their Constitution.

“It was not immediately clear what officials thought might be criminal, or why they thought it merited the attention of federal investigators.” says the NYT.

Oh! Oh! I know! You could deploy a Journalism against the useless Republicans making this claim and see if they're lying liars, and then write that out. If they have a history of making fanciful claims that are meant to be helpfully typed by organizations like yours, that don't actually get substantiated, that might be a sign that these people are bullshit!

But actually that might get a bit irritating for the knickers of your Republican owners.

Thank goodness Joe Biden is still around. People like when you focus on that.

Other than that, what more can be said? I'm sure with Frau Pam on the board she'll be able to trump up some sort of charge that will fall apart, but the lie is out there. At this point I just hope every act there just replaces their show with 90-minute comedy sets roasting the quisling Grenell and all his fascist friends.

Also if any bad-faith idiots read this and want to refer charges, I'm talking about "roast" as in "comedy." A figure of speech.
