TuckerGate: Please Allow the Monkeys to Continue Dancing As They Were Before
With his proclamation of The Daily Show's "surprise audience erosion," we'd like to congratulate Matt Drudge on being the first to try to mount the mighty bucking steed that is Jon Stewart backlash. Sure, he's using some fucked-up statistics to do it, but that doesn't matter: He's first. We totally thought the winner in this race to declare media obsolescence would be some hipper-than-thou, knee-jerk-anti-knee-jerk pop culture second-guesser with her finger on the remote and her eyes on her own hits. That's right: We thought it'd be us. But instead it's some asshole in a hat.
But we can be big about this. What's important here is that someone declare Stewart irrelevant so that we can continue to believe that Crossfire is a real news show. We must not let the performing monkeys make us feel bad about ourselves.
