I worked in a state criminal court for over 10 years, and I have never seen a worse grand jury fuckup in my life. Halligan and Bondi should both be prosecuted for conspiracy, and at the very least they should both be disbarred.

It's obvious that the administration wants to hassle its political enemies, force them to spend piles of money on lawyers, and to try to ruin their lives and reputations, knowing full well that they won't get a conviction (though MAGA is so stupid, they don't understand the difference, which the administration also banks on: the cult feels satisfied, and thinks that people's lives are forever ruined, we win, yay, us). It's trolling, and no more, though I do think the administration believes that indictments will forever tar the images of Comey, James, et al, which is where they fail to understand reality: to those of us who live on Earth One, having been indicted by Bondi's DOJ is an indication one has done something right. I'm not sure if the Gropenfuhrer or his minions actually, i.e., in actuality, understand that. The academics who write the history of this era will make that plain, as well.

It sure is a waste of our tax dollars and time though, to endure the litigation of Murdoch lies, rather than the real crimes that this cabal of our lowest common denominator have committed for decades.

Exactly. These bogus indictments are meant to ruin their targets professionally and financially. It's a modus operandi Trump has employed for decades. Trump knows how effective weaponizing the civil courts has been for him in the past, and now he has access to his corrupt attorney general and trumped-up criminal charges.

Every word of this. What continues to enrage me is the Republican enabling of this m.v/m.o. They aren't all as stupid as they act for the Newsmax cameras; surely they're aware of their creation of a terrible precedent. I long for electoral engagement for so many reasons, but taking the majorities and going after this absolute rot and corruption is at the top of my list.

Late to this, a bell this rings is a common conceit of 2020 election conspiracists: If the people they baselessly accused of completely hypothetical crimes turned around and sued for libel, "they" would be subject to discovery that would somehow vindicate the conspiracies. Saying you don't have to produce evidence before an indictment bc the accused can be forced to testify later is pretty much the same thing elevated to official doctrine.

Halligan is the only prosecutor I’ve ever seen who can accidentally produce two indictments, deny writing one of them, then look surprised it has her signature on it. That’s not misconduct. That’s metaphysical incompetence.

That is such a flagrant violation of Constitutional rights, this fuckery, that she really should be disbarred and get time in jail for contempt of court.

That would be more like hundreds of thousands of dollars on legal fees, not just thousands. I don't know where, exactly, this case is being litigated, or how many attorneys Comey and James have hired, but in Missouri a criminal lawyer charges $100,000 for a serious felony case, such as murder. Also, legally nobody gotta prove they are innocent...the prosecution has to prove the defendant is guilty. Of course in practice, it doesn't work that way, but that's what the law says, and if Lindsey Halligan isn't aware of that fact, then she is not fit to practice law in any state.
