Um, Yeah, Bernie's Gonna Have To Ask You To Stop Chanting 'Lock Her Up!' That'd Be Great.

OK, we do like the little kid with the 'Sing About Clean Air' Sign.

We have to admit we were not prepared for the intersection of the "Bernie Or Bust" sub-movement with the Alex Jones loonieshow, but of course it's gone and happened. No surprise that some Bernie Or Nobody folks booed Bernie Sanders for urging them to vote for Hillary Clinton. But apparently the hardest-headed of the hardcore B.o.B.s have taken up the chant from last week's Republican convention, because nothing's more progressive than demanding your political opponents be jailed:

At a lively Sunday march in support of former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, chants of “lock her up,” “Hillary for Prison” signs and t-shirts and calls for indictment were common among the most ardent supporters of Mr. Sanders, who arrived in Philadelphia to make their voices heard to the delegates attending the Democratic National Convention.

Well. That's really not something this Bernie fan can get behind, you know? It's also not especially cool with the Sanders campaign, either, though at this point what Bernie wants is irrelevant since he sold out Bernie Sanders for thirty pieces of Clinton Foundation silver, the big jerk. But in the rather touching hope they'll knock it the hell off, Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said Monday that it wasn't helping:  

"I know emotions are running high right now, but I think people really have to consider the implications of what a [Donald] Trump presidency would mean for those of us who support the kind of agenda that Bernie Sanders has laid out for the country," Weaver, who served as campaign manager for Sanders’s presidential bid, told The Hill in a brief interview at the Wells Fargo Center.

Huh! Now why on earth wouldn't Bernie and his former campaign staff think that's a great idea? The minute Killary's locked up, the nomination is Bernie's! There's still time, like maybe if the marchers carried some bigass papier-mache puppets! Still, a former regular on interview shows can dream, can't he?

Asked whether he would urge supporters of Sanders to stop chanting "lock her up," Weaver said, "Yes.

"I would encourage them to continue the political revolution by advancing the cause of progressive change," he said.

"And the best way we're going to do that at this point is to elect Democrats up and down the ballot."

Now hold on, just one minute, Wonkette! Your headline said Bernie Sanders disapproves of those chants, but all you have is his former campaign manager saying it. Bernie hasn't conceded! It's not over! Stop lying to us! BERNIE'S WILL BE DONE! LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP! 

We have a sad feeling this mess ends with most of the B.o.B.s fighting among themselves over whether to follow His Shoe or His Gourd.
