As bonus, it evokes popular rhetoric about Jews today in Europe as well. This validates my general dislike of nostalgia because things almost always sucked worse.
It's always so endearing when a journalist finally grows a pair and gets tired of their shit. Republican politicians have come to expect, rightly so after decades-long patterns of acceptance, being able to spew whatever scary-sounding talking points are working for their party at that moment, then move on. They have no idea how to deal with someone who keeps asking the same damned question over and over until they finally get an answer.
His response referencing being forced to referee other people's statements begged a followup. Did that apply to all Republican candidates for the presidential nomination or just those named Donald Trump?
It’s impressive how Republicans deflect and slam the media any time they’re asked a question about Trump. That said, as funny as it is to see him refuse to answer Welker’s questions about Trump, she could have wasted her precious time grilling DeSantis on his treatment of Nazis in sunny Florida, or asked questions about his sketched out appointees and how people can’t get their homes insured in his state. He’d probably be higher in the polls if he actually went after Trump like a man who wants to be president.
Every last one of these people except Christie is thinking Trump is going to be thrown in jail or drop dead or something else, and they're desperately trying not to alienate The Base ('al Queda' in Arabic).
"WELKER: Do you condemn the use of the word “vermin," then?
DeSANTIS: I don't use the term. But what I don't do is play the media's game, where I'm asked to referee other people. He's responsible for his words. He's responsible for his conduct. I'm responsible for mine. […]"
Someone really need to let Gov. Puddin' Fingers know he is running against Defendant Trump, and he is therefor responsible for his conduct and calling it out.

PRIEBUS: What, no, I mean about how democracy is on the ballot. If democracy was on the ballot, the Democrats wouldn't be sitting there with a candidate with the worst numbers since they've been taking polling. And worst yet, people will say, well, this has happened before. Barack Obama had bad polling. Trump had bad polling, but Democrats loved Obama, but 90 percent, 95 percent. Same thing with Trump. He's in the tank with Democrats. Now, how they can claim on one hand democracy is on the ballot and sit there with a historically weak candidate is unbelievable, and I don't buy it.
What the hell is he talking about? Biden’s historic all right, but not historically weak. His opponent is facing 91 indictments and has the vocabulary of a third grader. Preibuses who lives in glass houses shouldn’t throw such big stones.
Wasn't Bamz polling badly back in 2011? If I recall correctly, he won in 2012. The Rethuglians may want to shut their mouths unless they may want to put their feet in them.
"That last guy was a relentless fuqing criminal and I am not a relentless fuqing criminal so vote for me" seems like a fairly obvious campaign but not a single one of them went that route and they are all trailing by heavy double digits.
It’s the oddest strategy. They all seem to know that the entire, degenerate Republican party is a wholly owned subsidiary of PAB. So they don’t dare take on him or his consummate evil and weaponized incompetence directly. Because they don’t want to piss off MAGA. AKA his brain-addled, racist, sexist, asshole voters. Who will be voting for him. So, who, exactly, are these pieces of 💩 pandering to anyway? If they’re not trying to peel away the few remaining MAGA whose families maybe got them to submit to deprogramming or something, who exactly do they think their voters in the GOP are going to be? If PAB is still the favorite to win the primary (lord help us) why are they not trying to attract his voters? It seems they’re afraid of the very voters they’re trying to woo. What a clusterfuck. That whole party is broken and needs a serious CTRL+ALT+DELETE.

"We'll continue to build support." Except for the part where he's losing support.

He may be stupid and evil enough to believe what he says but my innate cynicism says 𝙁𝙊𝙇𝙇𝙊𝙒 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙈𝙊𝙉𝙀𝙔.
Does he even have a checking account?
Literally shooting himself in the foot would be a better result for Tiny D at this point.
Do you realize the caliber needed to get anywhere near his foot through all that footwear?

DeSantis' heels are so high, you can see them in his portrait.
DeSantis' heels are so high, even George Santos couldn't lie about them.
Until the press started covered his lifts in his shoes I honestly did not understand why Trump stood the way he stands.
Many, many reporters knew perfectly well that Trump has worn lifts. They simply refused to cover it. And they mostly still do.
Bizarre deference to fascism.
Desantis' heels are so high, you'd think Florida legalized weed.
I for one hope he stays in for the duration. That'll make it all the more Hi Larious when he gets beat on Super Tuesday.
I'm glad to hear Welker wasn't the shameful softball lobber she was with trump. I won't ever watch her so I sure appreciate the recap!
“Don't shoot yourself in the foot."

Long ago a Wonketeer explained that if you remove the vowels from his name you get RNC PR BS
What a pathetic evil dweeb.
The answer to that question is 'Why aren't you asking HIM this? I don't write his fucking speeches'
