Our previous previous-dog would stand on her hind legs beneath a tree into which she had chased a squirrel, and she’d do this “wow wow wow wow” bark. The squirrels would furiously chatter back. It was all quite musical.

But the squirrels didn’t dig up bulbs or planters.

Appears that Assad restarted his campaign against the rebels almost immediately after the quake - Erdoğan has his own rebels to attack in Syria, will he use this as his chance to expand his area of control in Syria?

I've heard, in Turkey at least, that a lot of buildings were hastily constructed in order to provide housing for Syrian refugees. In retrospect, a terrible idea but they were trying to do the right thing which just makes it all the more tragic
