That makes business sense. Paying holiday round the clock time and a half or double time, and still be understaffed because people are sick or took vacation or called off to travel, it's as economical to just shut down and have a maintenence skeleton crew.
One of the pillars of DEI, inclusion, is an umbrella that includes training, mentoring and opportunities to get good experience. It’s not just old fashioned “diversity” where you hired one black guy and then ignored him. Now it’s about training, development, incorporation, utilization and promotion. If you survive that process you are an asset to the organization.

The War Against Diversity depends on the notion that white men are automatically superior to those of us who don't happen to be white men. If that's not true, then diversity vastly enlarges the overall pool of talent, which means there are more superior people available.
Can't have that, now, can we? Of course it would be even better if all children were given superior educations, superior healthcare, and superior opportunities so they would be superior. Let's try that for a change, shall we?

As for how "diversity leads to disaster" I'd like to point out that there were likely numerous cases of mechanical failure, some of which led to fatal outcomes that could be traced back to poor maintenance, of aircraft in the Luftwaffe during World War 2.
And I'd like to ask if any of these fucks would like to blame the great diversity (both in race and gender) of the air and ground crew of the Luftwaffe for being the reason.
A lot of the German weapons, especially toward the end of the war and more especially the "wonder weapons" like the V-2, were built by slave labor.
So untrained plus I'm betting a lot of them made tiny mistakes on purpose to fuck up the Nazi's war capability. Plus they didn't have any incentive to do a great job as long as they didn't do it so obviously wrong as to get shot.
