Did Schneider use one of those curve-fitting programs? It is true that among the so-called business press (I used to be one), almost none knows any economic history. The labor situation in the early '50s was the constraint on growth -- so much so that shortage of workers was a primary argument for replacing soldiers with atomic bombs.
