I forgot you live here now. I am in Michigan now, spending my time in Lansing and Detroit, while I negotiate a hospice placement for my mother. I haven’t encountered any terrorists yet, although my daughter, who is half Mexican, is occasionally misidentified as one. I will keep my eyes out for a Dearborn terrorist. The Michigander terrorists I am aware of are balding white men with beards and tattoos.

There have been many, MANY, Christian pastors who have called for things like secession, or establishing a fundamentalist Christian America and even supported the Jan 6th insurrection.

Not once have I seen anyone say that everyone should panic over things like imminent secession or insurrection or even why a fundamentalist Christian Theocracy is not a good thing because America has a majority Christian population and that population is distributed throughout the country.

At least I haven't heard any such thing from the WSJ.

I live near Dearborn, where we used to go for it's great Middle Eastern food. Today, however, Dearborn is anti-LGBT and a center for an anti-Biden campaign.

The WSJ editorial page has been fascist since Robert Bartley ran it. With Murdoch, that poison has ruined the news section. If you need financial news, read the Financial Times. It still cheerleads for capitalism, but it's not batshit insane.

(here’s an un-paywalled MSN version for you to ignore)

Duly ignored...

There are forces in this country working to rip it apart. The motives may differ - the Putinistas, the racists, the (fake)Christian Nationalists, the neo-nazis - all have their own motives for tearing down this country we live in but the end result is the same. It's not a question of if there will be violence - it's a question of when, how much and where.

Gaza. The war is raging in Gaza. To a lesser extent, also too the West Bank. Israel suffered one horrible attack and has since exported the war exclusively to Palestinians
