Our friend and most excellent Wonker V4Virginia has died from complications following her lobectomy. I considered her a dear friend and she was truly a wonderful human.
Damn. Just... damn. I remember V4Virginia from back when we used to comment at Eschaton. She was a thoughtful, clever, insightful woman. Peace and healing to her and her family.
Oh, I'm sad to hear this. She was a lovely, vibrant part of this community. I'm sure she was more so in person. 😔 My condolences to her family and friends, I send them all strength and love. 💔

The endless, bleak, disheartening political ads can’t end soon enough. Trump’s are horrible, and total BS of course. I can’t understand what he’s saying at the end of each TV spot due to his slurring, but I think it’s “I’m Donald Trump and I’ll assault this massage therapist.”
Sometimes, I talk weird when I'm real high. Maybe Trump's just real high? I know I certainly can't condemn anyone for that. Of course, no matter how high I get, I don't expect people to make me President of the United States.
The Post, LA Times, and NY Times are all crap. But Wonkette has let me down a teeny bit too: Where's the whip? You know, the black cat woman, who had a whip. If Harris wins, can we get the whip back?
And why were we not taught about this when I was in school 60 years ago? We also weren't taught a single thing about Cahokia Mounds, the largest prehistoric Native American city north of Mexico, which was 130 miles away from my little town, and well within the distance limits for a class field trip.
We were not taught this because it was about non-rich non-white men. Don't forget, the WingNut/Repub crowd has not interest in people who aren't like them except to use women as broodmares and the poor as cheap labor.
