I saw coverage of this on my local news. The film footage came from someone's cell phone, where THREE PEOPLE (including the person shooting the footage) were standing close to the water watching it, and many other things, rush by. I sat there in shock of how stupid these people were.

I live in an area where this happens often. There's a town a couple counties over in which, if the rain is more than an inch in an hour or two, the town floods. I've driven by a nearby highway where the river that floods the town all the time is just about to crest its banks, but have never been there when it's flooded.

It's become repetitive around here. "Two inches of rain tomorrow? Everyone in Prospect, start bailing now."

The people there know. When the water rises, GET THE FUCK OUT.
