It's neck and neck down to the finish line. Who gets to perp walk TFG next? The scatter shot writs are evaporating like a kid's popcicle when it hits the pavement. Now a real trail date is set on the document theft case. It's been a hot summer so far, but the real heat has yet to come.

"It is one thing to indict a ham sandwich. To indict the mustard-stained napkin that it once sat on is quite another."

Are they saying that it is okay to indict a ham sandwich (which prosecutors could legendarily do with any grand jury). but not indict the napkin? Does this make any kind of sense to anyone?

LifelongLurker's avatar

And are they saying their client is a mustard-stained napkin? (Sounds about right, actually.)

Documents, business records, and . . . But I was going to point out that, already, counting civil cases, trump is in court about every 8 weeks from October through next August. Plus there's a possibility somebody might tryto call him as a witness, eg, Michigan electors.

OMG, can it really be … RICO???? Guess we’ll find out pretty soon.

Unpossible! Popehat assures me it's *never* RICO!

No fair!!! In the past Trump used mob connections and mob tricks to avoid accountability. Now that mean DA is planning to use anti-mob laws against Trump. Like using Trump's barely veiled threats against government officials carrying out their responsibilities against Trump. "Nice job you got there, be a shame if you lost it. So find me some votes. 11,780 votes is a random number that just popped into my head for no reason."

WELL, Trump announced on "Truth Social" that ALL CHARGES WERE BEING DROPPED in that case about a month ago, wasn't it? COULD IT BE that Trump WASN'T TELLING THE TRUTH?11!1!!1!!

COULD IT BE that Trump WASN'T TELLING THE TRUTH?11!1!!1!!

GASP!!!!! Oh the horror!!!!!

GaseousAnomaly's avatar

Trump...he...he wouldn't LIE...right? He wouldn't deliberately NOT TELL THE TRUTH...that would be UNTHINKABLE, right? RIGHT?!!?1?

"...[C]an it really be … RICO????"

But, but, RICO could bring down the whole Republican Party!!!

Let's hope!

Not holding my breath though.

Ah, the old Ham-Sandwich-with-Mustard-and-Napkin Defense, eh...?

It's like a game of Clue. An orange turd using a ham-sandwich-with-mustard-on-a-napkin in the bathroom.

To be fair, I can’t think of anyone that more resembles one.

Popehat isn't a fan of the federal RICO statute, due to it being complicated and easier to prosecute the individual actions. However, he stated that RICO in Georgia is different...heheheheh.

Furiouser and Furiouser's avatar

From what I’ve read, Georgia’s RICO law is friendlier to prosecutors than most, and Fani Willis is an expert at it. Bring it on!

Colbert Thorenson's avatar

Is Trump the ham sandwich or the mustard stained napkin?

BlueSpot's avatar

Neither.

He's the giant, orange colored turd you drop after eating the ham sandwich.

"violate the United States and Georgia Constitutions, as well as unambiguous federal and state law. [which you are supposed to enumerate right about here]"
