VP? With that complexion? Even if that was the real reason, if he had any self-respect, he'd say it was all for the grift.

There was an older white dude collecting signatures for Scott in front of the Alexandria VA post office. He seemed daft because he never remembered he'd asked me before to sign.

Early on when the NYT's did an article on all the GOP candidates one commenter was bursting with confidence in what he said was going to be the DeSantis/Scott ticket. He was sure that combo would wrap up ALL the votes because Ron for white people and Scott for Black people. He was so sure this is what was going to happen.

It's so unusual for the NYT political reporters to be wrong about a thing.

Yep, his fundraising definitely smells of frauding.

Immediately wired to random accounts based at Staples in Suburban America that were set up shortly before he announced his run?

Yup. The only question is whether either (or both) of those two accounts were set up by Tim Scott in a mustache and trench coat or another of his shady GOP ratfuckers.

The chances of TFG choosing anyone other than a white male sycophant are zero. Two out of three isn't going to cut it.

I would be very interested to know where that money is really coming from.

The nature of money in politics, post Citizens United, is more and more resembling the business practices of drug cartels.

Let's see...two recently formed LLC's, with addresses at Staples stores, are the conduit for Tim Scott's campaign spending. The campaign gets to report that to the FEC in reports that are "better late than never". Somebody runs those LLC's, and takes home a substantial salary. The money gets disbursed without oversight. Maybe Tim's very real girlfriend is in on the action.

This is pretty much the standard for money laundering.

I think his slogan should be some sort of take on "Dance like no one is watching"--"Campaign like no one is voting" or something like that.

This ruin is because Scott isn't the real deal. He made the sin once of talking about racial profiling, which MAGA will say at the same time doesn't exist and also is warranted because All Black People Are Criminals. It's a shame to see this fool debase himself, and I get some second-hand embarrassment (though not as much as for Daniel Cameron in Kentucky).

"The DeSantis flop might’ve legitimately caught some desperate anti-Trump Republicans off guard, but Scott’s candidacy always seemed like a big waste of time. He lacked edge, charisma, and any real defining principles."

Plus, you know, he's Black.

There are two kinds of candidates in this primary. The ones that are polling above Mike Pence believe they have a legitimate shot and are hoping Trump implodes and goes to prison before the convention. The ones polling below Mike Pence are just in it for the grifting.

Well, they’re all in it for the grifting, just some know they have no real shot.

Considering his body of work, Tim Scott is incapable of being embarrassed.

We’re in a post-shame world now. No republican is ever embarrassed.

Reagan’s message was that America is great so long as the government does nothing except kill black and brown people. And republicans did find that very hopeful.
