I do not understand why inexperienced hikers decide winter would be a great time to visit a mountain. There were those two guys that up and went on Christmas too, as I recall, and when I lived up north we'd call spring "body" time (cause our forensic prof was also the area forensic coroner so we got bodies after the thaw) and not all of them were folk who had enough of life, some of them were folk who decided a hike in a blizzard a brilliant idea.
