I think many of us have stuff that we know we'll "need" sooner or later. I have small baggies of twist-ties and elastics in separate baggies in the kitchen junk drawer with another baggie of old keys that I'm not real certain what they will someday unlock. Maybe I have a vault I forgot about somewhere? That must be it!

I have three junk drawers and a junk room. STILL not a hoarder, you never know when all those twist-ties will come in handy.

These idiot insurrectionists are still getting busted Weird how they fucking gotta blame someone other than Trump or themselves for storming the Capitol even after two n'a half years.

So it took two and a half years to convict this guy when there was photographic evidence posted on the internet that same day? Can we just hire a dozen college interns to monitor Parler and Truth Social because I feel that would be a better use of law enforcement money than literally anything they’re spending it on right now.

I guess it’s unfair to expect law enforcement to act on this with the same speed as if it were a POC loitering somewhere.

There are many defendants, and there are volunteer groups scouring those very pages you mentioned for these derps. The wheels grind slowly but exceedingly fine, at least in this case.

Not to dispute your point about POC.

I guess the magats severely overestimated the popularity of their lord and savior Trumpf by spending their time in an echo chamber and thought there would be a "levee en masse" (I apologize to French speakers if I misused the term like the Proud Boy who went to Hahvahd Law School misused the term "Kafkaesque") and law enforcement and citizens in a very Blue City "would take up arms"(?) to support the "revolution" (okay, that esplains the flaw in the plan) and somehow the weapons and reinforcements would come over the bridge from Virginia in afternoon traffic in Washington (another flaw since air support was out of the question due to the Air Defense Identification Zone)

Their problem is they're not satisfied with political power achieved through the electoral process; what they really want is an endlessly violent and lawless state of chaos where they're free to kill anyone they want (and no one's allowed to resist). It's all about their pubescent fascination with firearms, their artificial sense of victimization, and the self-affirming qualities of redemptive retribution.

"...what they really want is an endlessly violent and lawless state of chaos where they're free to kill anyone they want (and no one's allowed to resist)."

That would be the actual effect of a MAGAt victory, but the movie trailer they play for it in their heads involves buffed-out Trumpzillas and George Washington slapping soldiers with PTSD.

I saw a couple articles on a VCU (Virginia Commonwealth Univ) website about how the reward center in the brain gets some of dat sweeeet dopamine when they "fight" an "outsider"

VCU notes carefully that subjects studied are fighting a pretend enemy on a computer simulation and no outsiders are being harmed.

Had you stopped at "pretend enemy," they could have just gone to the Capitol on 1/6/22.

Former prosecutor Glenn Kirschner, Trump's profound legal crisis in Georgia, Fani Willis, a charging decision...

Kirschner says expect a large case from Willis

"I became convinced that the district attorney Fani Willis was going to indict probably a massive conspiracy case when she did something that was really unusual. I had never seen it done as a prosecutor. She sent a letter to the judges of Fulton County, the Fulton County court, saying that we respectfully request that you set no trials for two weeks in August...The week of august 7th and 14th, and you set no in-person hearings during those two weeks. That is an incredible ask of a prosecutor to courts, please clear your dockets, clear the decks."

PAB's lawyers are way past agita. I wonder if they itemize the benzos?

No but Trump lawyers asked two courts in Georgia to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from investigating him and quash the special grand jury report that recommended criminal charges. Because, soo unfaIr!

Hmmmm, NO DISQUS!

New stuff and its attendant anxiety, concern...

Nope, this is easy, just some things to get used to...

I'm thinking that the arrests will continue for awhile, the low hanging fruit is in baskets, but there's got to be (violent) people that DOJ is more motivated to lay hands on than others... Those others may be caught when they are in the process of living, traffic stop, renewing paper, etc

But yeah, what the future holds...
