My recipe!

I boil 4 c water with 1c sugar to make hummingbird nectar.

Hummingbirds migrate South, c'ya!.

I make the ice tea with an ice tea bag in a 12c drip coffee maker (strong!).

I add a cup of bottled lemon juice to the hummingbird nectar (strong!).

Pour both over lots of ice 50/50.

Still too strong? Splash of water!

Heinz chili sauce. Too much heat. HEINZ chili sauce.

You're killin' me here, Hooper.

Oh, you have no idea. Robinson actually filed the lawsuit he threatened and it is a joy to behold. Can you say “Streisand Effect”? Sure! I knew you could!

I was going to Google that, not familiar, but it sounds just like buttah

Reading Dom's article gave me a hypothesis. These "Town Halls" are just excuses for TFG to have indoor rallies that are small and not have the press point out the lack of butts in the seats. Cause it is a town hall! Not a rally! Never mind that the only people there are Trump fans! it is a Town Hall, really!

Land Shark 🇺🇦 🏳️‍⚧️'s avatar

I wonder where they hides the busses that bring all those supporters to these town halls?

Mighty Little Dog's avatar

Meh. I dont believe this is close at all, I just dont. Abortion ballot questions, early voting numbers, that lump of rancid lard losing his mind. Its not close, but maintaining the fiction of a close race serves msm, and his campaign, since he can claim fraud later.

Lawyers, Guns 'n' Money's avatar

The internal polling from both campaigns show it as a very tight race.

Jen's Taking Greenland's avatar

idk about that. Not doubting the Dems who tend to not take things for granted, but I wonder if the GOP would be cheating so very hard right now if their internals showed them with a shot.

And they are. Even Trumpkin tried to pull a last minute purge.

Mighty Little Dog's avatar

I dont think they get shared widely but maybe.

Jen's Taking Greenland's avatar

One thing is for sure: With all the rampant voter suppression, including but not limited to Dan Patrick raiding latino homes, Georgia tossing out results it does not like, and multiple states "purging" their voter rolls, ya know, out right cheating, should the GOP win, it will be all the Democrat's fault.

Jen's Taking Greenland's avatar

new registrations and donations have also been more Dem heavy

I find the veracity of this video suspect for a number of reasons.

Opalescent Riddles's avatar

In the end, Dude lost a significant fraction of the petrol he dumped into that thing. Economic anxiety my asscrack.

defpac's avatar

Honestly, the most likely explanation is that this dude had a mental breakdown.

Everybody knows that you use a rubber boat when you have to contain so much fuel.

Lawyers, Guns 'n' Money's avatar

Does nobody know that gas stations have emergency switches?

Opalescent Riddles's avatar

I've seen them [customer-accessible panic button], but they were not the kind that would shut off a single pump. They basically shut down the whole station.

Customer-accessible shut-off or not, the definite prudent course of action would be to let the attendant know so that they could shut down that pump. They definitely have the capability to do that [from the central control console].

If you're feeling brave, walk up to the pump and put your hand up in the slot that the nozzle sits in when it's waiting for the next customer. That stops the gas flow to that one pump, but it also puts you closer to the Idiot.

Lawyers, Guns 'n' Money's avatar

In this instance, shutting down the whole system would not be an overreaction. This guy was endangering everyone in close proximity to the open-storage fuel in the back of his truck.

Opalescent Riddles's avatar

That’s a very good point. Risking a catastrophe, clearly.

defpac's avatar

I saw comments on that tweet asking for that, and I am like: "never seen those in Europe, and also not in the US".

(I would assume though that the cashier inside should have such a switch, they should be able to stop a pump, like immediately, right?)

Opalescent Riddles's avatar

I'm pretty sure, yes, they do.

defpac's avatar

Yeah, one can find a lot of photos of such devices. Never noticed them before though ;-(

Opalescent Riddles's avatar

Are you talking about the accessible safety cut-off? Even if they shut down every pump, as Lawyers, Guns 'n' Money said earlier, that would not be overreaction here.

At the central operator console, they can turn on a specific pump for a predefined dollar or gallon amount, and they can turn it on such that I can pump an undefined amount* and pay afterwards, so I assume they can turn any pump off at will as well.

* (or perhaps a defined amount clearly exceeding the capacity of the vehicle and/or any portable vessels it might transporting)

eppe's avatar

Biden inflation! Those Trump MAGA hats probably cost $60+ bucks now>

Opalescent Riddles's avatar

The lady informed the attendant, who called the cops but did not immediately shut down the pump. Fail.

Now, oddly enough, you CAN toss a lit match into a pool of petrol and it won't ignite, not that I would advocate demonstrating that in this scenario. The gas spilling on the ground was a major hazard, I don't need to say.

Lawyers, Guns 'n' Money's avatar

Of all the fan boys fanning Trump's grundle and fanny his fanny, I would imagine Mike Johnson and Lindsey Graham would be among the first to get Robespierre'd during Trump's authoritarian regime, should that ever come to pass.

Jen's Taking Greenland's avatar

Lindsey especially. Trump holds grudges and well, we all saw him on 1/6 get up there and be almost a normal human for a hot minute. Which was mean at Trump.

eppe's avatar

Are Mikey and Linds too old to have a career post-Congress in showbiz as background singers with Boyz-to-Men?

Land Shark 🇺🇦 🏳️‍⚧️'s avatar

They wouldn't be the only ones. A lot of the adjacent nazis who are helping the FELON today would be Robespierre'd because they could get the FELON "disposed". I suspect JD Vance might be one of them.

Afternoon spuggers, lovely sunny day here, overlooking the beach and the Med. Temperature is slowly climbing to barely tolerable, or about 28C (80ishF). Barely tolerably high that is, shade beckons for the next several hours.

Even so. 28C there is well above the "old" normal.

We're getting a bit of "indian" summer here as well ... around 27ºC today. This is probably the last of those warm days, however.
