YOUR corporate overloards. I have yet to accept their authority.

I mean, if Kaepernick isn't in shape to play football anymore, Goodell could also just resign and give Kaep his job. Or maybe ownership of the 49ers. Both seem fair.

The NFL needs Kaep more than he needs them. He is the face of modern civil rights in the country right now for a generation, especially in terms of labor.

He should be paid for his mind, not for his body.

Leading the NFLPA would be a start, then probably a visible career in the Biden administration.

and some of the right wingers who were so happy about the peaceful protests that they decided to join so they can start looting and make the protests seem violent

Don't forget Peter Norman, who was also on the podium with them - and knew what they were going to do, suggested they use black gloves, and said "I'll stand with you."

Setting aside the profoundly white supremacist culture within ALL professional sports, it's simply bad business not to support the predominantly African American talent on the field. Fans are addicted to the game and aren't going anywhere. The players teams have gone on strike before. The NFL players should all go on strike for damages to be paid to Colin Kaepernick. The man is a true American and should be recognized as such.

By not following leaders and watching parking meters.

I keep asking myself, why can't *I* fail upward like that? I mean, I'm a white male and EASILY as mediocre as the next guy.

I think it's because I don't know how to dress for success.

Quarterbacks are not completely interchangeable. Some teams look for a QB who already understands the system that the head coach / offensive coordinator uses. Other teams make adjustments to their system based on the starting QB's skills and strengths (or lack thereof).

The argument goes something like this: Kaepernick doesn't fit into the systems used by most teams, his weaknesses are well known and easily exploited (he didn't get the nickname of "Kaeperpick" for nothing), and reworking the O-scheme around him isn't worth the effort.

Not saying I agree with all that, but there are practical reasons why a team wouldn't bother investing in him at this stage, even if they had the money to burn and wanted to shove a big ol' thumb in the eye of Jerruh Jones.

OT: I caught a glimpse of protesters on TV. It looked like a bunch of kids with some adults. I looked closer and realized it was full size adults with a some pro basketball players. Dang those guys are huge. The Bucks (whose own team member was tasered for no reason by cops) team, owners and staff were holding their own march. Nice to see the whole lot out in force.

Seriously. I have also wondered about failing upward. How can I get in on that?

Which is a different thing these days. I find that I’m creeped out by guys that are dressed a little too well...it’s like “what are you trying to distract me from?”

Considering Donnie's stellar track record, he would have found a way to absolutely bankrupt the NFL.

Kaepernick replacing Goodell would be ideal!

Apparently you can't be just ANY mediocre white guy - you have to have connections. If your family is rich and you went to the right schools, for instance, doors will open for you everywhere.
