Yes

Run an ELISA for spike antibodies but no capsid protein that would be present in a natural infection. That’s assuming these lackwits know how to run an ELISA

Antibodies are in all bodily fluids. We usually isolate them blood serum.

Would a normal ELISA be able to differentiate?

Rooster Cogburn105's avatar

You run 2 ELISAs, one for spike and one for capsid antibodies. Levels probably lower than serum but if you’re over the significance on the standard curve it’s pretty solid

Sounds reasonable, I understand the principle but have never actually done that assay. I got out of the "science biz" (Biochem with a heavy emphasis on mammalian cellular physiology) About 45 years ago. I do some reading to try to keep up but at this point I'm more than a little rusty. Thanks for the update!

The vaccine is spike only so if you get spike antibodies but not capsid then no natural infection
