I would agree that the Netherlands did worse,I felt seriously uncomfortable on my visits (Ik ben grotendeels in Nederland opgegroeid en heb nog steeds familie en vrienden daar). But it doesn’t change the fact that the reaction to the third wave was too slow, too late, too little. And as a healthcare worker I’ve paid a personal price for that. I’m absolutely angry with this government and I don’t see them do enough to prepare for the next wave.

When Francis F. Coppola bought his big & very expensive winery a few years back, he was concerned that the winery's auto fleet emissions would affect his grapes, so he replaced all the winery's vehicles with Prius electric cars.

Now, *that's* irony.

The Imperial Valley has a lot of agriculture but the Central Valley produces many times as much, say $1billion to $43 billion.. Both are important and threatened by drought. and heat.

I agree and I eat meat. I have also eaten what I grew or hunted and butchered it myself. I am always somewhat amused by someone who likes fish but has never cleaned one and won't eat a fish served whole becuase it has a face.

By retiring I have reduced my carbon footprint by about 70%. Now if I could just find a way to convert cat hair into free energy, I would almost certainly win a Nobel Prize.
