As a client of VA healthcare I receive regular email communication from them keeping me aware of the many benefits available. Today I got one which really upset and which I'll excerpt for you. Keep in mind that this message was an official VA correspondence on the VA letterhead -
"As you may be aware, funding for some government agencies, including portions of the Department of Veterans Affairs, expired at midnight this morning.
President Trump opposes a lapse in appropriations, and on September 19, the House of Representatives passed, with the Trump Administration’s support, a clean continuing resolution to fund the government through November 21. Unfortunately, Democrats are blocking this Continuing Resolution in the U.S. Senate due to unrelated policy demands."
none of this matters...the Rs wanted this shutdown in order to finish destroying the fed govt...the Ds should cave on the ACA issue, because 1) the Rs never will, 2) even if the Rs do eventually give in, it will be too late and everything else the fed provides with the social safety net will be DEAD
so, it's a shit sammich...save the ACA, lose everything else, or leave the fight over the ACA for another day and try to save what's left after trump and vought have burned it all to the ground by this time next week

They covered a few clients' primary care visits and prescription, because the undocumented qualify for NO help from Medicaid.
