The reason is it's very bad oil (much worse than Canadian tar sands) and costs so much to extract and process that it just can't compete. However, it seems that they have some large lithium deposits, so that might be it. However, it's most likely some personal vendetta by the McDonalds Molester against Maduro.
It just occurred to me that the idiot Trump's (and the lunatic Miller's) best reaction to the video saying "don't obey illegal orders" would have been, not to rant and rave about "insurrection" and "traitors" and "execute them," but just to say, "They're absolutely right. Do not obey illegal orders. And that's why I never issue illegal orders." That no one stepped in to make sure that was his reaction shows either how much they fear him, or how incompetent and stupid they are.
Saw some clips of Karoline's press briefing today. Her new thing is to have a prepared statement on a general topic, read it in response to the first question on the topic, and then refer back to her statement for any other questions on the topic. Also, too, she assured us that all of this stuff was very legal.
