I heard that, too! Unfortunately, their marketing campaign tag line "Pussies Are On a Roll!" didn't fare so well.

Unless I am mistaken, those are Munchkin cats. A breed which is considered animal cruelty ...

Sister Artemis's avatar

I had an dwarf cat - not a dwarf breed, just a kitten with some type of chondroplasia - and when my vet figured out what was going on, she commented that she hadn't seen many cats with chondroplasia in her practice. She dealt with a few Munchkins, and their attendant health problems, and while she didn't SAY the animal cruelty words, she clearly thought it.

That said, she worked with me to help my Sophie have the best life possible, and I think it was interesting to her to deal with a dwarf cat (little cat?) who arrived at that status "naturally," not through contrived breeding. She hooked me up with folks at Oregon State University's vet program, who were studying dwarfism in cats. The main things I did for Sophie was create smaller jumps for her to climb, and to watch carefully for any back or heart issues. Sophie died young (8 years old) from organ failure (her condition worsened faster than the vets could figure out why it was happening) but I like to think that I gave her a good life while she was with us.

Androgenous AF's avatar

I have no qualms that you gave her the BEST life possible. And that she knew it. She loved you no matter what.

Nobody does the hed gif better than you. I look forward to seeing your creativity every morning.

The second one tried their heart out! GiGi (the inspiration for my handle) is a really bad jumper. She often ends up hitting the side of whatever she is trying to jump on or over. It would make for amusing videos, but I don't because I think she's self conscious about it. Have a great weekend!

defpac's avatar

Unless I am mistaken, the cats in the video are Munchkin.

There is a reason why they are bad a jumping ... and it is not a good one.

"Big Oil is drawing up a load of executive orders for Donald Trump to sign if he’s inaugurated, not only because they’re super-helpful that way, but because they worry Trump will forget about Big Oil"

According to Beau, they're writing them for him because they don't think anyone Trump appoints will be competent enough to write them. And for once I find myself in agreement with oil executives.

Wookiee Monster's avatar

He is probably right. One of things that hampered Stinky last time around was that so many of his executive orders were so poorly written that they were unenforceable. I know his minions are making an effort to recruit competent people ahead of time now. But given that not believing in the Big Lie is a still a deal breaker for potential hires, competence will probably still be in short supply.

Androgenous AF's avatar

One can only hope so...

Trumps ask for a billion dollars with a list of things he will do if he gets it sure sounds like solicitation of a bribe.

In the clip, Mike Johnson says that finding all the illegals to review their cases would be “the challenge of a generation” and I can think of a whole lot of better things to challenge a generation with.

I'm sure Speaker Moses has a plan for the nation's economy and business growth when he and The PAB deport 11 million undocumented immigrants who are employed in this country. I say first deport all the farm labor in the red states.

Androgenous AF's avatar

And the food service people, the maids, nanny's etc.

Let's see all the high flaunting white people do their own 'dirty' work, that's beneath them.

Long hours, small pay, hard a$$ work...

They'll be whining in hrs... pleading for relief. If they did a 1/10 of the hard work...the tears would fill our deserts.

I'm white, educated, blue collar, unprejudiced (aged out) worker.

I stand with what's Right and Fair....

Wookiee Monster's avatar

“The savings from all the Welfare they’re sucking up will pay for itself.” I’m waiting for them to say exactly that.

John Norris's avatar

Remember, all the undocumented immigrants are all on welfare and taking all our jobs.

Liminal's avatar

If the right thinks it's terrible for the economy to pay someone $15/hr to make their coffee, wait until they have to pay $25/hr to get someone to spend the day sweating in the fields to pick their crops.

Androgenous AF's avatar

I'm thinking $35/hr+.

Take me a day or two to get up to speed...(At 71, I might be exaggerating...) But in my hay day...no FN problem. Head down and moving...

John Norris's avatar

You could make more training all the white republican boys in the red state colleges to do stoop labor.

So Garland approved contempt charges in November 2021, he was found guilty by a jury in July 2022, not sentenced until October 2022, and now in May 2024 finally gets an appeals court verdict. So much for swift justice. Now let's watch the Supreme Court sit on an appeal until after the election instead of almost immediately not accepting the appeal, letting the appeals court decision stand. As they do in 99% of cases sent for Supreme Court appeals. Unless it involves Trump or someone in his orbit. Of course Navarro is cooling his heels in jail so maybe there is some hope of Bannon sitting in a cell on election day.

Lah-de-dah, just casually discussing how we’re going to “round up” 10 million human beings, like they were fucking cattle. Is that their best solution, or just the final one?

Jeff, still got my guitar's avatar

Ya, that's quite a rodeo Mikey is planning on having. Rounding up the strays in the scrub brush is always the hardest work. It's pretty absurd to compare immigration policy to a cattle drive. That's really all they have , besides WALL.

clairence's avatar

Wow, the things cats do when we leave them home alone!

Bupkus231's avatar

"...Trump’s logistically impossible plan to round up and deport 11 million undocumented immigrants, but he worries they might hide"

He must be envisioning a "Anne Frank" scenario, where people with an ounce of morality shelter undocumented immigrants.

Hey, did I just make a Nazi comparison?

Cat the Ripper has shredded and systematically torn OFF that hemp rope wrapped around that particular support post in his Feline Tower of Power.

And may Fate preserve you if you dare to reach up to pet him when he is reclined in furry repose atop his tower.

The small, dark blood stains scattered on that top platform are the result of me learning that lesson the hard way.

Tower Of Power, a great under appreciated band, imho!

I'm not sure what all the good people of Florida did to stop the use of The Chocolate Wars, but if death threats and angry school board meetings were the worst, these people weren't trying hard enough. In Kanawha County, West Virginia, site of the state capital no less, back in the 70s, they burned the school buses rather than let their kids learn about that there Eeeevolution stuff. Now that's some serious anti-intellectualism.

Got an email this morning from Uber telling me I could rent a car, visit my mom, and get Uber points. This is concerning, as she has been dead for sometime, and I feel no urgency about paying a call.

Apparently the Algorithms that Be how a look around my place while I was sleeping, and decided I needed to watch a video addressing the disjointedness of my interior design. “Maybe,” the videoist speculates, “your home is decorated with impeccable decor.”

Okay, sure. Let’s start with that premise. Why not?

He continues, earnestly. He seems concerned that it lacks a unifying characteristic.

I tell him that the unifying characteristic is cat toys.

He describes an element of Nordic design called the Red Thread, inspired by Theseus’ crimson cord which he used to escape the Minotaur’s lair.

I told him that if my cats had been there, Theseus would still be wandering around in there. Unless, of course, he had taken up Uber on their indelicate and dubious offer to rent a vehicle and go see mom.

And all this before I’ve gotten out of bed this morning. (Relax, all ye who live in a more self-righteous time zone. It’s only 5:43 AM in the morning here.) Time to get up and carpe this sweet-smelling diem. If I have calculated this correctly, today is going to be my favorite day of the whole year: Greenup Day, the day of benediction, after which the sins of winter are held against us no more. Whatever got us through the night, stays in the night. Time to rise up singing and go forth.

ETA: linking this video here, since Doc seems to have forgotten to address the requisite TABS feature of interior design, and Rebecca explaining that she lives there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40qzGago2o8 so here you go and Rebecca totally lives there. Not in the labyrinth though.
