Finally, I got the answer from retired Ohio Appellate Judge Mark Painter in that great book Legal Writing 201. The redundancy is in key words as law and languages moved northward from Rome. First French, hen English. Sadly, this redundancy continues. I feel for you having to trudge through this shit in law skool.
By the way, I had to read and administer contracts, but I found this book really helpful to improve one's writing. For me, it was technical writing.
