So here is a thing that happened in Washington DC yesterday: CNN reports that members of "The White Student Union" and the "May Day Workers" came together in Lafayette Park for a frank exchange of views and hurled bags of urine. We pretty much hate the white supremacists because their ideology is, you know, all evil and shit, but while we probably share a lot of the red-flag-waving May Day crowd's politics, there's also just something about the chanting and posing that leaves us wanting to bash ourselves in the head with a large rock wrapped in Scotch.

(I've been reading a kind of Nietzsche for Dummies recently, because I never really read any of his stuff. The guy had a good sense of sarcasm -- he might have made an interesting Wonkette commenter. Philosophy, meh. Attitude towards women, gah).
At least when our side wins, the try to govern for at least a year before going into 100% campaign mode again. The notion that politics is a means to achieve policy has simply never, ever occurred to most modern Republicans, who have only believed the opposite.
Totally is the St. George's Cross. I'ma guess there weren't any Republic-of-Georgians, so it just brings to mind how the National Front in England use it as kind of an old world Stars and Bars.

The <a href="http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/uk\/2010\/oct\/10\/english-defence-league-tea-party" target="_blank">Observer</a> claimed in 2010 that Pam Geller had been playing matchmaker between the EDL and the Tea Party.
Whether this matters is another question. As far as I can tell the WSU exists only at Towson; does anybody know how many members they have? Admittedly, between CPAC and this they&#039;ve been getting publicity.
